Being from Texas let me tell you a few things.

As many illegals working as California allowing business owners to cheat what honest people do in competition.

The 4 major growth areas driving Texas are liberal...you could argue Dallas is neutral. So three plus half of one.

Fort Worth. Liberal.

The state pays it's bills even if the education and health care systems are inadequate. (Unlike alabama looking at you senators)

It has a rainy day fund for when things go bad, meaning it doesn't spend all its money never mind not make enough.

It has a major port for refining. DEER Park in the Houston area for instance. Port Arthor, etc.

They would not elect Roy Moore to the Senate. The voters would have held there nose for the interim pick rather than but propaganda.
