I'm having to get rid of some old books and have a first edition which usually gets a good price.
My problem is this.
I've only ever seen copies with a loose dust jacket and mine has been stuck down with a kind of clear sticky plastic.
Personally speaking, that's vandalism, but whoever did it made a really good job, maybe even had it done professionally.
Its certainly protected the book over the years but I'm afraid it will detract from its value and I don't want to over price it. Nor do I want any
irate customers complaining at a later date that its not "authentic".
Obviously, it will be included in any description I give before making a sale, but how badly does it affect the value???
Its from the early 60s, not an ancient tome!
If its too much, I'll simply keep the book because its one I'm quite fond of but I'd like some further knowledge before making my mind up.
Thanks in advance.
