It's been announced.

It's the #MeToo movement. Apparently, Time is calling them "The Silence Breakers."

I'd say it's a solid choice. They've blown the lid off rampant sexual harassment / exploitation in Washington, Hollywood, and the MSM.

The first few comments from the link made me chuckle.

Who gives a fu## what Time Magazine claims are the persons of the year? They are yesterdays Fake News

I'm sure all 27 of their readers will be pleased with their choice

Good choice, it has been the biggest news story that affects millions of people.

Of course odds are, that half the staff and executives at Time probably are harassers.

Meh, not really a person, but I get it. I too would agree on this one. I hope Hollywood and Politics continue to expose all the corruption.

First time in a long time i've agreed with their pick.

Its long past time that women who've been abused feel empowered to tell their story, and maybe help stop abuses to other women.

Time does that quite frequently, make a thing or a group the POTY. Sounds better abbreviated " Hey, I was nominated Times Potty of the year!"

They've chosen groups of people before. 2014 was Ebola fighters, and 2011 was The Protester.

If all the corruption was exposed, there wouldn't BE a Hollywood. Nor politics.

Out of all the women in the world that have been raped and spoken out ,women like Ashley Judd are chosen. Let's see, she wasn't raped, she promised her harasser she would have sex with him after she received an award and only spoke out when it became fashionable to do so. In her instance, this was just a gross, ugly, old fat guy using his power to seduce her. She was still photographed with the guy all cuddly and smiling. I see her as exploiting the situation. What a bunch of crap.

This is the era of corruption and feminists are as corrupted as the rest of this country. All of these women, patting themselves on the back for their courageousness AFTER the guy was no longer around to enhance their careers. Why didn't they speak out when they could have stopped it for other women? No, only after he could no longer benefit their careers and they could gain more by speaking out..I am a female, and at one time would have called myself a feminist, but no longer....

I am speaking about the ones that spoke out in the Hollywood saga only.

That's the best they could come up with for POTY? How disappointingly underwhelming. There's a myriad of major breakthroughs going on in the sciences alone -- CRISPR trials, functional artificial wombs, AI advancements, etc -- and none of those scientists hold a candle to...this crap?

I'll pass, thanks Time.

I'm happy for the "pound me too" movement! They should win an irony award too, IMO. Keep up the great work, pounders, your cause is bang on!

Just shows the illiteracy of Time's "journalists". A person is a singular being. People are plural.

LMAO

Not that I'd line up to defend Time, but I think that kind of stuff is what the Nobel Prize is for.

As for this pick, it's shaky. Some of these people should genuinely be applauded, but among them are people who in my opinion should be charged as accessories since they covered up and enabled for these sexual predators for years in order to protect their careers.
