I have been saying that South Korea will be the one to spearhead this offensive, we will just be support. I believe they are fully capable, and now they show they intend on carrying out the mission until its end.

By Bahk Eun-ji
The "decapitation unit," known to be modeled after the U.S. Army Rangers, Delta Force, SEAL Team Six and Green Berets, is composed of around 1,000 soldiers and was established under the army's Special Warfare Command.

The brigade's mission is to eliminate the key figures of the North's regime including Kim and to destroy nuclear and missile facilities, according to the sources with knowledge of the process.

The exact name and mission of the brigade has not been specified by the Korean military official, but stressed that it will grow into the country's core of military strength.

The South Korean Army initially planned to launch the force in 2019, but decided to move up the schedule as North Korea continues to raise regional tensions with its ballistic missile launches and nuclear experiments.

Well, the march to history is clearly on its way. Related news on NK from throughout the year at the following thread.

This follows another ISR unit expanded by the South Korean Air Force to monitor increased threat potential from the north.

What? Of course not! The best way to carry out a mission is to release your plans beforehand. Who wants to have the element of surprise? /s

Even if Kim was taken out, who is going to be the new leader? Let us hope that that this new leader isn't as crazy as Kim.

I would wonder when this is supposed to take place.

Funny how even when there are missile launches and geopolitical events the stock market's fear index never changes and investors never seem to flock to precious metals like they used to. A lot of funny business is going on...

That was a disingenuous title. I think this is better placed in conspiracy forum or something.

Besides, the North Koreans have hacked into South Korea's war plans computers and know all this stuff already anyway.

One would hope neutralize instead of destroy.

What's the point in saving people if you maim/kill them in the process?

Heck, aside from that just give him a free Guantanamo vacation-Bush/Cheney style. Once the military tribunal has convened.

North Korea says that Kim Jong successfully fought off a u.s. Navy SEAL attack back in May.

I don't think the odds for the South Korean guys are very good.

Excellent news.

I hear drums, beating steadily.

The reign of Kim Jong-un's tyrannical dictatorship is coming to an end. The sooner we start this thing, the less people we have to loose. NK will only continue to build its arsenal, while increasing its bellicosity and triggering a global arms race like the world has never seen. It would make the Cold War look like a video game.

That is laughable and untrue, IMO. They would have faced massive retaliation at the hands of Trump and the US military.

Propaganda is the initial kick of a war.

I don't see things settling down at this point...

Well.. I hope they are better when I served in SK. They were poorly trained, and even non-infantry troops would beat the SK special forces in mock battles and drills. Their regular soldiers were very poorly trained. I hope that picture in the OP isn't them.. they don't look very special-force-y if you ask me. Also seems like a very weird way to kick off a special forces attack on your enemy.

Iran is also in the mix, unconfirmed reports claim Israel killed 12 Iranian revolutionary guard soldiers in Syria.... Things could heat up.

Though that is what can happen when you have boots on the ground in a proxy war.

Kim and his military are probably laughing at this one. who would ever let someone know they were going to get kim.

Might just work, nobody in their right mind would believe it was true. Oh I forgot, this is kim, he isn't in his anywhere near norma.. he will believe it and stop it. He will boost security everywhere
