A cuban man, Benito Martinez, is anywhere from 119 to 123 years old. He was born in Haiti, and worked in the sugar fields, and is now living in Puerto Rico.
He may be able to credit his long life to not smoking, and eating well. He is is good health, can still walk, and is very alert. While others show age in their 40's, he does not even look 100!

Benito Martinez says he is 123 years old, while Cuban experts believe he is just four years younger than that.
If that is proved, he will comfortably break the world record. The current record holder is 113 and lives on the Caribbean territory of Puerto Rico.

He was presented to the world by the Cuban government at the inaugural meeting of what it calls the '120 Club'.

Cuba says that with its free healthcare, it is the best place in the world for men and women to grow old.

This man, proves that not smoking and drinking can increase your lifespan, along with eating well, having fun, and staying mobile. He is a testament to 'living right'.
He has been inducted into a club called the "120 Club", where he will be the oldest member. This club was started by Fidel Castro.

If any other thing may have added to his long life it may be, his sense of humor, and refusing to stop particapating in activities.

Even if he younger he is, the oldest man alive.

My great grandfather (whom I knew well into my teens) lived to be 107 and smoked and drank daily...
He was perfectly able right up to the end, and he and his wife (who died a year after he did, at 105) lived unassisted in their own home. Hopefully, I got my genes from THAT side of the family, hehe...

In a few decades...once they wheel out the THIRD version of Castro...eventually "Castro" will be the world's oldest living man, hehe.....

Well, here's to living to a ripe old age, of 105 or longer. I hope you never need depends or, a wheelchair. lol
I never even realized that when I read the story itself, that Fidel will actually be the oldest living person after his death...good point!

This man is not yet placed in the Guiness Book
of world records for his age! They have not yet wrote his name in the book, but rather have an 113 year old Puerto Rican man, listed as the oldest man in the world. I expect that this will change since a Doctor has examined him and is siad to be 119 years old.
Fidel Castro's personal physician, said there are six main elements to
living a long life.
Appropriate diet, medical attention, intense physical activity, cultural activities and a healthy environment.
