I learned a lot just on the 1st page, and I'm not really convinced the mystery has been solv ed yet, by the end of page 1

Its one of the instruments placed by the astronauts. You can clearly see the moon buggy tracks leading to it.

If he moon is supposed to be only as wide as the united states around 2500 miles wide, and around 230,000 miles away, why can a small set of binoculars see it so well?

When we see the Earth from the moon, hat doesn't seem possible.

The Moon doesn't have an atmosphere or clouds, thus you can see every crater and every mountain range quite clearly. The Earth's atmosphere muddies the view up a bit, but it's not as bad as you're making it sound.
