The Arctic Ocean is warming up, icebergs are growing scarcer and in some places the seals are finding the water too hot, according to a report to the Commerce Department yesterday from Consulate at Bergen Norway. Reports from fishermen, seal hunters and explorers all point to a radical change in climate conditions and hitherto unheard-of temperatures in the Arctic zone.

Exploration expeditions report that scarcely any ice has been met as far north as 81 degrees 29 minutes. Soundings to a depth of 3,100 meters showed the Gulf Stream still very warm. Great masses of ice have been replaced by moraines of earth and stones, the report continued, while at many points well known glaciers have entirely disappeared. Very few seals and no white fish are found in the eastern Arctic, while vast shoals of herring and smelt which have never before ventured so far north, are being encountered in the old seal fishing grounds.

Within a few years it is predicted that due to the ice melt the sea will rise and make most coastal cities uninhabitable.

Glacial melt and thermal expansion. Warmer water is "bigger" than cooler water. I think that in the case of Hawaii, warmer water is the principle cause. My opinion, in part, is a result of my conversation with Dr. Fletcher (SOEST).

I really don't see any point in getting hysterical about something, if indeed it is happening, that humans have no control over, ie, climate change, also floods, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, forest fires, droughts, hurricanes, tornadoes, meteor strikes, lightening strikes, snow storms, sink holes, land slides, is that it ?
The earth will turn after we have gone, it will rain, it will snow, volcanoes will erupt, tectonic plates will shift, ice sheets will come and go, in time all the concrete will be ground to dust, and our beautiful earth will not give a damn.

The whole going green thing, like all religions, is and always has been a cash grab.

It also happens that those who deny the human impact on climate almost exclusively lean far right...climate change denial is being to sold to that base with apparent success.

Many cling to science denial with climate change because they are being played by puppet masters who want deregulation and exploitation instead of conserving our natural resources. Environmental protections and acknowledging anthropogenic climate change are mere road blocks for their profiteering.

I live in Key West, every fall durring full and new moons we get street flooding at high tide. This appears to be more significant each year.

This is pretty strong evidence for sea level rise. This was not an issue 20 years ago.

It also happens that those who pray at the alter of Anthropogenic Climate Change resulting in catastrophic changes in the new few years (and the last few years if you count all the false predictions) almost exclusively lean far left. ACW is being sold to that base with apparent success.

So I take it that, in fact, there is no data by satellite or tidal guages that backs up your statement that your island is sinking under the waves? Just an anecdotal story that you had a conversation wtih some guy a number of years ago and now its a fact!!

I have time and again on here. You know that but it does not matter because you stick your head in the ground and ignore anything that challenges your confirmation bias.

There's a difference.

Yes there are Alarmists and always will be. Some are even well meaning but jump the gun.

Most scientists are not Alarmists though, just doing research and reporting on their findings.

When thousands of Scientists tell me man made global warming is a real thing with real consequences that we either better do something about or take steps to mitigate the effects, I'll listen.

Or I guess I could listen to some republican blogs...thats the same as thousands of scientists right? Maybe not?

Cities in Florida are having to build walls and pump the ocean out to keep from being submerged. Seasons are changing even animals are changing their ranges. Global warming is real and a 100% verifiable fact.

global warming may be a fact. Hell it certainy is a fact. However, the globe has been warming since the little ice age!

What is not a fact and what has not been proven at all. is CO2 emissions casing catastrophic global warming.

Give me evidence of that!!!
