Because who would say something to soldiers at a front..

U.S. President Donald Trump gave a bullish Thanksgiving address to troops overseas on Thursday, hailing progress in Afghanistan and against ISIS, and telling them they were fighting for “something real,” including a stock market at record highs and his promised “big, beautiful fat tax cuts.”

Or this:

Trump told the troops they could look forward at home to the benefits of “big, beautiful fat tax cuts,” a stock market at record highs, jobs and economic growth.
“We’re doing well at home, the economy is doing great,” Trump said. “You’re fighting for something real, you’re fighting for something good.”

or this little gem:

Trump said he had told the troops overseas the country was “doing great,” thanks to his cuts in “regulation and all the waste and all the abuse.”

What kind of military personal would feel obliged to fight for Big Bu$ine$$?
If I were a soldier hearing that live, I would turn around to my fellows, them looking as wide-eyed as me, and ask, what this fat man does think what we were doing there?!

This is a huge sh*tshow of self-adulating, nothing else.. Guys, usually I abstain from Trumps regional comedy, but sometimes he just pushes some buttons for me - like disrespecting soldiers fighting for "him". And this is disrespect!

I'm guessing many people hear that as confirmation of healthy economy. People being reassured that their country is strong, and will continue to get stronger.

I think this is often where people of other nations fail to understand much of what happens in the USA and the peoples attitudes. People relate and identify with the rich and the big corporations- tell them those will be protected, they can feel that they will be protected (as soon as they get there, could be any time now....)

LOl! I know, it sounds crazy. A whole lot of people are still holding on to that idea that anyone can become a millionaire over night, with just the right idea or with hard work. But it gives a sense of security and power over their own destiny. I can do it! feeling. Take that away and the world seems much more bleak and scary. "I alone" becomes powerless and we've been raised to feel deep in our gut that following the crowd, being part of a herd, is bad. I think we've been brainwashed by TPTB so that we don't band together as a herd and run them down.

Why is it a bad thing to fight to keep people fed and employed??

Do you think they would follow you? Because "HEY, my leader wants to have a black friday, and unless I do not die or get severly injured, my family might have enough money to buy some new iPhone or stuff these days because I am here in Afghanistan or somewhere else in the world" is good enough for a soldier?

probably territory in a way but not the way we would traditionally think of it
