Why do many of you guys not get it, or pretend not to get it?..she was fired, that is why she got the gofundme $$, if she just flipped the bird and life carried on as usual..do you think she gets a gofundme?
I think it's a bit silly, her getting the $$ but..oh well.

This is called milking the Sheeple.

The person is a brilliant capitalist, this person sees people willing to fall over themselves throwing their money away to make any kind of statement against Trump to brag about to their fellow Lefty Sheeple and provided a go fundme service for them to satiate their lust.

I need to start flipping more people off. But my finger is already tired from the Los Angeles freeways.

So I'm pretty sure she isn't getting funds because she flipped the bird. But rather because she was fired because of it. Did she even start it? I doubt it.

Just goes to show there are many brain dead people with more money than sense, by supporting this sexist racist person.

If 100,000 idiots want to give her a dollar then so be it. Makes no difference to me. She will still have trouble finding employment now the rest of her life.

No she won't! Critical thinking, articulate, honest people are in demand by many corporations and entrepreneurs like myself. I'd hire her over a Trump supporter any day.

Then put your money where your mouth is, and hire her! Bet you won't.

Trump is a jerk all the time, maybe he should lose his job? Naah, when he's a jerk y'all just praise him for being non-pc.

Its either that, or we live in a world where children get detention for unknowingly using the wrong pronoun.

So this is what it has come to. An employee of a government contractor who was fired for violating the company's social media policy, is now to be rewarded for her actions. A donation fund was started entitled "Thank You Juli Briskman", as if she is some sort of hero.

Just think of it as a way of taxing Trump-haters.

Whatever...if it's people's own private dollars, who cares.

I do feel that it's a reflection how responsible people are with their own money, though--I be many of those who donated also complain about the unaffordability of things like health insurance, or car maintenance, or cell phone coverage, or their ISP costs, or many other things that we consider necessities in America.

But, yes, let's sling money at someone for flipping off the president.

Yes...this is a sad reflection.

Who are you to judge what is and isn't responsible as far as someone elses money. You literally contradicted your self.

First you say who cares, then go on and spew out your care.

From what I see, she violated her "contract" and was dealt with accordingly. If people want to give her money then let them.

The sad part is all the people in this thread talking about left and right. You guys really don't see how politics are the problem with this society. This Left Right hate is the root cause of racism. Left hate right because they are....right....right hate left because they are....left. Do you not see the parallel here?

Good on gofundme for accepting and allowing this particular fund, good on the people who organized and set it up and good on the people who donated. There is absolutely no reason this woman should have this particular event haunt her for the rest of her life like most of you are saying. She made a bad choice and earned the punishment, anyone not accepting her prospective employment over something she once did and laid the price for shouldn't be allowed to have their own job, if all of our employers knew what we all did that hasn't been recorded and put on the internet no one in the whole world would have jobs. Furthermore she shouldn't ever have to bring up the incident in future employment endeavors (and no one else ever should either once they've learned a hard lesson) and anyone rehashing/bringing it up in the said future years after it happened is malicious and really needs a self evaluation on their own life. Again, good on everyone who has helped her. It shows that there are indeed people with common sense and compassion/empathy and want to help others recover. I understand that what she did, she shouldn't have done no doubt but she already paid the price and this charity helps her with lost wages due to a ridiculous reason for loss of employment. I hope she spends and saves it wisely and necessarily. Good luck to her in her future endeavors, let this be a lesson.

This woman is unemployable. That 100,00.00 will last her a couple years and then she'll be bankrupt. Good riddance to trash like her then.

I'm Slapmonkey--it's nice to meet you.

Now that introductions are out of the way, here are the two things that you are misconstruing in my comment to which you replied:

    1. When I said, "Whatever...who cares," I was talking about the existence of the GoFundMe page and the action of the cyclist (you know, since that was the discussion set in the OP).

    2. I don't care what people do with their money, but when they do whatever they want with it, it's perfectly acceptable for someone like me to look at the bigger picture of society at the moment and make a point about the hypocrisy that is ongoing about the cost of things.

So, again, I'm Slapmonkey, and I'm an America who has to listen to the perpetual bitching and moaning from some of our citizenry about the lack of affordability of life's "necessities," yet watch them throw their money at "causes" like this.

I don't care about this GoFundMe page, but I do care about hypocrisy and my own opinion on the matter. If you don't, so be it.

That's who I am, and that's why I commented. Who are you to imply that I shouldn't? People are free to give to whatever cause they want to--they are not free from the criticism of others for doing so.

I'm British and I donated to the the fund for a chuckle.
Trump is a clown and I'll flip him the finger if he ever makes his state visit here, so will many people, it is why the visit has been delayed, he knows it won't be cheering and flag waving lol

Wow, 100k to flip off Trump? Where do I sign up?

For starters, follow your own path...not somebody else's. She put it on the line, and society has chosen to reward her.
That speaks volumes for "society"

...and commentators define themselves by their words. Seems to work pretty well!
