Charles Manson ..... on his way out.

This is the Creepiest character I ever met. And that was in Laguna Canyon. Charles and the Family used to frequent the Canyon usually there to score illegal substances. My friend was one of the people supplying said substances which were created in Berkeley by a chemist named Owsley and Timothy Leary. I had come face to face a couple times with Charles and Squeaky From, neither were in any way pleasant. Unusual.....? It was 1968 So Cal, it was the norm. I avoided them, 'the Manson Family' like the Plague, they just gave me the willies. There was nothing good about Charlie. And now the time has come to pay the piper for him. No RIP here, none.

Everyone I know that's done their own research into his story comes out thinking he was set up by the intelligence community and/or military. He didn't kill anyone and wasn't even allowed to defend himself. Nevermind so much more that I won't go into... Those of you that have done your homework know.

Modern day criminals get much less time for doing much more.

I'll definitely have good wishes for the transition into the great beyond when he passes. It's not my place not to. Let those affected by his actions curse him, that's on them. I don't speak ill of or wish negativity on the dead. That's just bad ju-ju.

I met him, rather I was in the 'Water House' .....the rented house the members of 'The Brotherhood of Eternal Love ' lived in. My friend, the son of a Hollywood actor and affluent as well as from a wealthy family was a member of the Brotherhood. I was drawn there by a friend of the actors son, my friend the son and I became fast friends, much beyond the loady thing. Those who may have frequented the place might of known whom I speak of. He went by the name of a Norse God.

Sorry, I got sidetracked.... but yes I was face to face for a minute or two with Charles Manson, who had come to 'score'. I left as soon as I could get my jacket and head out the door.

I was always hoping he would be set free in his lifetime.
Did Chucky ever really get charged or found guilty on actual murder charges?

Two major shows (Mindhunter & American horror Story) feature him as a significant plot device the past few months and he's on the way out all the sudden...

Sounds kind of like Ted Kaczynski. Note he was also an MKULTRA experiment gone wrong.

Not that he didn't blow a bunch of people up, but he actually had masterminded a sound exoneration defense and his own court appointed attorneys railroaded him into a corner where pleading guilty was the only way out.

All to "save his life" (solitary confinement until the day he dies). I suppose that's how he was living when they nabbed him anyways, and ironically enough he doesnt have to much look at how his prophecies are all coming trutru.

He was pure evil as was Watson. The girls, airheads. Followers. I'm sure he had his people kill Tate and Labianca. He was a gruesome evil sack of worms, you knew, you just did. I would bet all I know he Did it.

Never met the Clan. A Friend and I got shot at by some people with a .22 that drove a VW Bus covered in Hippy symbolism. I remember reading somewhere that he drove between LA and San Francisco in a white VW bus, when he was on the prowl for new girls .

I also remember reading about the rituals they used to perform at Big Sur on the beaches and we hung around a lot there as boy scouts back when.

I read this in Helter Skelter a long time ago, and my mind is fuzzy about details.

Not about being shot at, about the VW van and Big Sur, you mentioned the brotherhood, and that rang a bell..

This would give you a place to look online. I won't post any links as it would be against T&C here on ATS. But an independent search would give you a hint at what was happening in the Laguna Canyon in 68-68.

All I will say is that, irrespective of what he is said to have done, he was trying to tell people about the "system" and how crooked it was as far back as the 1960s.

I've been working on a Manson related thread for a while now... maybe it's time to put the polish on it and give it a go. Nothing juicy like the whole bit of corrupt insanity before the arrest or the agencies involved in the area. But maybe I will if nobody else has really dug in properly here. Off to the search engine.

He lived out at Barker Ranch, but spent a lot of time in Laurel Canyon too. He only came to the Canyon to score. He had a charisma to him that some bought, to me, an Ivy League Preppy- wana-be longhair of 17, he was scary. He was about 15 years older than me.

In the same argument too as some suggest, he was like a political sage. But his actions were for keeps. It was 50 years ago, the mind loses clarity. I have two more friends who know the goings on of the time... it was not unusual back then, no matter how reprobate.
