This might sound like a dumb idea but.... i think a super power like America should elect 3 presidents to work simatainiously together, you could have one president who is focused on the economy/money , the second president could focus on forigen policy/trade/immigration and the third president to focus on national security, if there was three presidents then they would have more time to spend on important issues,
if this is a truely awfull idea.... please dont shout at me

If you have three presidents that are in charge of diffrent areas, the one that is in charge of the economy would have the biggest power because the other presidents have to ask him for money to do anything. But it's a good idea to spread the power to more people.

That will never happen. Here in the United States, we have a Constitution, and it takes 75% vote in House of Representatives, and the Senate, and a majority of the States to change it. Much better ideas have tried and failed.

We do have a President of the economy. His name is Alan Greenspan. Some would even argue he has more to do with the state of the economy than the President.

Does anyone actually want a three-headed George Bush in office?

One of the reasons i thought 3 presidents would be a good idea was because ... lets say before the US invaded iraq.. if we had 3 presidents....

Pres1 : i wanna invade iraq cos they have weapons of wmd !!!

pres2 : is there any hard evidence?... they might have none..

pres1 : we gotta invade now!! before its too late!!!

pres3: nah, lets wait and see if the CIA come up with anything credible

pres2: yeah good idea, now lets get back to running OUR country

pres1: ok fair enough! *damn i would have gotton that oil if it wasnt for those meddling presidents*

So you see, with 3 presidents we might be able to avoid any personal agendas and hopefully end any form of corruption and favortism *halliburton*

I believe your basic idea is balance of power, in which case we are already supposed to have. And ideas like this wont work out because of partisan politics. If all three presidents were of the same party then they wouldnt disagree.

I believe some time way back if the President were Republican then his vice President had to be a democrat and vice versa. Apparently that didnt work out very well..... Could you imagine that today?

In France they have semi-parlamentarism, they have both a president and a Primeminister, and when the presiden is from one party and the Prime minister is from another they call it cohabitation (sp) and they have to work togheter, I think it was som problems in the past with this but its working fine now.

If a country were to change the way it's ruled one have to be prepared that there is going to be alot of problems in the beginning but who knows maybe the new way is better.
