I have a few questions please? Im not a pro so this is from what Ive gathered.

There seems to be a lack of Cat sphinxes in the funerary books, they do have Anubis. Would it not make sense to be Anubis guarding the tombs rather than a sphinx?

On the Pyramids being contemporary to pharaohs(tombs) why are there no carvings or cartouches of the Pharaohs who built it in them, while they are covering most of everything else they built for themselves? Moreover, are there really red paint hieroglyphs deep in the shafts that prove the construction date?

TY!

Okay, first of all (and you have to get your head around this), what "makes sense" to us is not necessarily what someone who lived 5,000 years ago in a different country under different laws and a different type of government and a different religion (belief system) would think makes sense.

Okay, now start from that "clean slate" bit.

* the "books" you are talking about come from around 800-1,000 years after the Giza pyramids.
* Anubis (one of many jackal headed deities) is a psychopomp (spirit who leads you through the underworld to the place of reckoning (or to the place where the ruler of the underworld is.)) The psychopomp makes sure you get there safely... what happens after that is not in their hands.
* Anubis was also the embalmer and the guardian of tombs: en.wikipedia.org...

As to the sphinx, though, it represents the pharaoh in power, guarding the land from enemies. Throughout Egypt's history we see images of sphinxes stomping on foreign enemies or set as guardians over sacred spaces (the Temple of Karnak and lots of other places.)

And as to the (frequently answered) questions about cartouches, etc, (sorry if I sound jaded) yes, they're there. If there had been a painted and plastered wall inside the tomb, it was destroyed long ago. But there's more than just the three pyramids on the plateau. There's temples and tombs and there are walls enclosing each of the pyramids and the kings' names are found there. Khufu's is found on temples inside the enclosure that circles his pyramids.

In addition to that, the names were recorded in ancient history (Herodotus notes the names, in fact -and even mentions that there were (in his time, 500 BC) records of how much food was given each day to the pyramid workers )

So we've known it as Khufu's tomb for around 5,000 years. In the Christian era, they tried to connect it with Joseph and other Biblical figures.

So point the third: Could it have started as Anubis and been changed? Here's where you do your research: go to Google Images (or any other image search) and search for "museum Egyptian sphinx" and "museum anubis statue". Now, take a look at the whole figure. Sphinxes have a heavy body and the haunches are on the level with the lion back. The tail tucks to the right.

Jackals have haunches that stick up over their backs. Their bodies are slender and their legs are very slender. Jackals don't wear the nemes headdress, and they have very thin necks.

You could recarve a jackal (maybe) from a sphinx but not the other way around. But don't take my word for it.. go look at the statues that are in museums and you can see for yourself.

I keep seeing a massive chemistry set when I look at the Great Pyramid. Energy plant to produce Hydrogen or something. What is your take on the machine theory?

I've been inside. It's not air tight and it's not perfect.

The idea that it's some sort of power plant/machine is illogical. Why spend 20 years building a huge stack of stone and an inaccessible chamber (it really is hard to get into and out of)? Machines and chemicals need to have easy access to put stuff (fuel, equipment, wires, etc) in and easy access to get stuff out (whatever product you're making.) Why go with such a bad design when you could do something far more simple and take less than 20 years to build it?

www.bing.com...

what like the one Tesla had erected

Exactly. That didn't take 20 years and 30,000 people to build. It would have been silly to design it around a pyramid (and in fact the limestone would have hindered things considerably.)

Some of the Answers that you seek can be found in the words of Manley P. Hall, a comparative religion expert who also happened to be a 33 Degree Mason, and influenced everyone from Carl Jung to Stan Lee. YouTube his name + Atlantis. Enjoy the adventure on which you are about to embark. šŸ˜Ž

Not to be too offensive but your the reason I donā€™t want to get into mainstream archaeology only quick to point out mistakes, I used the word race as Iā€™m not writing a uni assignment here and itā€™s more understanding for those with not as much academic practice on these subjects.

Your telling me the pyramids arenā€™t an amazing engineered structure? That their maths was insanely good! Especially when you look at how far off the North Pole the pyramid faces north by...

Dig reports are good and everything but if they where to find these findings then a mainstream archaeologist just reports them as anomalies as they donā€™t want to change the structure of history they have already written. There has been 3 geologists that have dated the Sphinx at plus 12,000 years because of the water corosion will post their names when I am at home around my books.

Basically if your going to follow the mainstream archeaology and not like ideas I have to share go back to your narrow minded modern day archaeology of guessing Work.

Itā€™s 20 years but they estimate it to be more like 40šŸ‘šŸ½

And for the pyramid being a tomb and them teaching me in my first semester, there has not been a mummy found
So they will probably try to teach me hocus pocus on how everything has been stolen because itā€™s saves time for them on finding out the true history!!

I am only studying my masters today because it is something I must do for a job I was offered, the job I was offered was
For a company whom focus on the pseudoarchaeology so Iā€™m not interested in mainstream archaeology which is made up of guessing history to fit the books šŸ¤™šŸ½šŸ‘šŸ½

It's your "Thread" but the forum belongs to ATS.

I do agree though that Wikipedia can be somewhat inaccurate and/or rather misinformative regarding some subjects.

I wonder how somebody with an ( future) archeology masters degree can put up Atlantis, Edgar Cayce and scientific research in one line...

one good read I really liked and recommend about the religous and christian motives of Edgar Cayce, the ( really old) search for the hall of records and the controversies behind the illegal diggings by Lehner and Hawass in the 70s, is Robert Bauval's ' Secret Chambers Revisited' ..
I'm really no fan of the fringe and Hancock ( more) and Bauval ( less) in particular, but Bauval is a really good researcher in this.

I always felt that there are more to the pyramids.
Really what are the chances that this awesome structure is built in center of earth landmass??

Its whats possibly underneath the Giza pyramid complex that remains a mystery. Ground-penetrating radar has shown there are cavities underneath the Great Sphinx.

The Hall of Records is always a possibility.

But who knows what else might be there, possible evidence and information pertaining to predynastic times or even evidence of antediluvian civilization might be found if only "They" would let us look.

And if there is nothing to hide then why all the fuss?

Considering a number of historical artifacts and ancient sites that are being destroyed and defaced these days by religious intolerant bastards, and also throughout recorded history, we really should catalog and study as much of our historical past before its consigned to oblivion by Humanities ignorance.

I can't imagine that there were enough Atlanteans even around to build a big pyramid. I'm assuming that "Atlantis" was a small but socially advanced culture that vanished when the Azores plateau sunk. They might have left some intellectual knowledge behind, but I'm unaware of any artifacts. It was a long time ago. Even if they were the first to write down laws and maybe cook up some astronomical data, it would have been done again eventually.

Fair point, but if you're going on to a Master's you should probably stick to academic convention. It's much more precise and less likely to lead to problems.

Your telling me the pyramids arenā€™t an amazing engineered structure? That their maths was insanely good! Especially when you look at how far off the North Pole the pyramid faces north by...

That's ridiculously easy to do... look up the ceremony of the Stretching of the Cord. They oriented by stars. And you can get a straight line east-west if you put a staff into the ground at sunrise. That's how they managed to get the sun to light the statue of Ramesses at Abu Simbel. And they'd already constructed four or more pyramids; the original based on the mastaba tomb and at least one failed pyramid (so they knew the limits of the steepness.)

Oh... the sides aren't exactly equal in length.

Now, if they'd invented flying buttresses, THAT would require a lot of engineering and math. But pyramid? Nope.

Dig reports are good and everything but if they where to find these findings then a mainstream archaeologist just reports them as anomalies as they donā€™t want to change the structure of history they have already written.

How could you get a degree in archaeology and not know that people get famous by challenging history (like overturning the Clovis First theory)?

There has been 3 geologists that have dated the Sphinx at plus 12,000 years because of the water corosion will post their names when I am at home around my books.

Robert Schoch. The others aren't geologists. Schoch walked back his statement later.

You really ought to read dig reports. You'd find out quickly that your statement is not correct.

I am only studying my masters today because it is something I must do for a job I was offered, the job I was offered was For a company whom focus on the pseudoarchaeology

I'm confused. You're getting a job in a company that focuses on pseudoarchaeology ... but that requires you to get a degree in real archaeology?

Thank you for the advice Iā€™m sure I know how to write assignments if Iā€™m doing my masters

There is amazing mathematical engineering in the pyramid, look at the sheer size of it, we would struggle in todayā€™s
Society to build a replica, and we have huge cranes today!

Please study the maths on the pyramid and come back to me and tell me that it isnā€™t incredible what they did with the resources they had and the maths that went into building it. If you come back to me saying itā€™s not then you must have the mathematical ability of Leonhard Euler!

I got the job through one of my online professors as I studied it ā€œdistance learningā€.
He only does it part time, as he owns the company and only works 6 months of the year. He keeps quiet on his dark side of archaeology ha! Thatā€™s why I was offered a job by him because I think similarly to him, and you donā€™t get many studying a degree anymore that are so open minded to any explanation ā€œother than aliens ā€œ thatā€™s one thing I think makes a laughing stock of the pseudoarchaeology community.

Also I think you need to read the dig reports! There has not been a mummy recovered from the Pyramids but they put this down to grave robbers over the years. Which Iā€™m fine with because thatā€™s 4000 years of potential robbers. The Egyptians where even grave robbers themselves checkout the papyrus on Ramses IV tomb robbery...

But I also think we need to be open to the idea that maybe this pyramid wasnā€™t built for a tomb, as it has so many
Inconsistencies to a normal tomb.

Sorry to say but it tells you in the Bible. There were Giants on the Earth in those days.

The "giants" had nothing to do with building the great pyramid.
How do you know?

Some skeletons or other remains might help in that department but alas ether they don't exist, the Smithsonian has lost them, or there are covered up by more than topsoil and time.

The thing with 15ft tall Humans is that it a distinct possibility that they would pretty much be defeated by the gravity of our world alone unless their bone density and biological makeup was immensely different from our own.

Could argue that the gravity of our Earth back when these Nephilim and other giants were supposedly around was less or rather different but there is absolutely no scientific or even geological evidence to suggest such.

Why does the interpretation have to be so literal?
