Sex toy company admits to recording users' remote sex sessions, calls it a 'minor bug'

Hong Kong-based sex toy company Lovense's remote control vibrator app (Lovense Remote) recorded a use session without their knowledge. An audio file lasting six minutes was stored in the app's local folder. The users says he or she gave the app access to the mic and camera but only to use with the in-app chat function and to send voice clips on command — not constant recording when in use. Other users confirmed this app behavior, too.

A user claiming to represent Lovense responded and called this recording a "minor bug" that only affects Android users. Lovense also says no information or data was sent to the company's servers, and that this audio file exists only temporarily. An update issued today should fix the bug.

Ok. I can't even quote the next thing in the article... Proceed with caution.

In any event, it's hard to imagine a file is generated locally by the app and the developers didn't know about it.

Bug, my ass... Oh wait. Never mind.

Truth is stranger than fiction.

One could be forgiven for wondering why you want to bug your own ass, each to their own I guess .

When are people going to stop being surprised, when their sex toys or anything else, is connected to their phone and it records information? Yes, folks have a right to privacy, but they put their deepest secrets on an electronic device with apps that are made to collect data and then scream bloody murder when it gets out. It's like they live in their own little electronic world and never look up at the real wor......never mind. smh.

Why do you need an app for a sex toy!?

Some people deserve it for being so reliant on phones being used for no real purpose, other than a gimmick. Hopefully some learn a lesson from this.

They'll use it for blackmail, along with other three letter agencies. Just sent across the internet long enough to be to recorded and archived by the agencies.

This has been going on for 20 years now, ever since RealPlayer was caught sending back the names of video files being played to their servers. Now we have Youtube.

Somehow I doubt it was a bug. These companies are in it for one thing, 'profit' and to make more profit they need data on customer preferences.

Imagine if You will....

You check Your computer to see how Your ad did o'er at that aol® çhatroom® You've frequented for now near 11 years.

(Your computer is actually watching You)

That subject that You enjoy having cybersex has sent You a link so Y'all can get into a 'sesh'. They advise You to watch it/experience it on Your new Samsung® 60" 4k t.v....

(Your television is spying on You)

The picture is 'funny' so they advise that You watch it streaming from Your Sony® Playstation™.

(Your Playstation is spying on You)

This could only get 'better' if'n You incorporate Your 'odlid' (read in mirror)

(Your odliD is spying on You)

After clean-up You figure this out and are so incensed that You grab Your cellphone to alert the proper authorities.

(Your cellphone is spying on You)

Stay Hydrated...

I was just reading another lovesense hacking story recently too:
Security Researchers Hack Bluetooth Buttplug

The device in question is Hush by Lovense, which is billed by the company as "the world's first teledildonic butt plug" that you can "control from anywhere!"

Unfortunately for Lovense, the butt plug has also joined a host of other teledildonic products that are remarkable for being insecure. In other words, even though you can control your butt plug "from anywhere," it would appear that anyone within Bluetooth range can control it, too.

Apparently you don't want to buy any lovesense products.
