I just came across this information recently. This article claims Baghdadi was actually born to two Jewish parents and his real name is Elliot Shimon.

I'm very divided on what to think of it. It doesn't seem like there's any clear cut proof that Baghdadi really is a Mossad agent planted to lead ISIS, but there is a lot of chatter that he is.

It would seem those who ascribe to this theory, believe that ISIS itself is a creation of Israel/ the US and the UK.

What are your thoughts on this ATS? Do you buy this or believe its strictly a rumor?

I should add the source of this is rumoured to come directly from Edward Snowden himself. I'm skeptical of this, because I've never heard Snowden mention this himself. The buzz seems to be he's made it very clear this is true, but it seems to be all derived from "sources " close to Snowden.

All I can say is that I wouldn't trust Global Research if they sent me a birthday card. Straight disinformation...enough truth to create an interest, the rest is likely дезинформация.
My two rubles on the subject (and for the record, I am not an apologist for Israel).

Thanks for the heads up. I'm weary of a lot of sites on the internet making bold claims such as these.

Zionism is poison, Israel is a terror state & Mossad are shady...

But I’ve never seen anything to convince me this theory is true.

I would certainly get a hearty chuckle if true

Not if the Syrians & Russians can help it

Many of us suspect that ISIS is an astroturfed terrorist group controlled by some Western power. I myself and others have noted before the curious blind spot ISIS has, where it has launched attacks seemingly everywhere except Israel. So really, the idea that it might be secret run by the Israelis (please note I didn't say "Jews") is not a far-fetched one.

If this is true, then it would appear that ISIS' true purpose is to destabilize the Middle East, to Israel's benefit.

I've also noticed that Saudi Arabia has suddenly erupted into a huge mess, coincidentally right as it's becoming clear that ISIS has lost, and will soon be unable to cause any kind of large-scale trouble. (Though we'll probably have to put up with stuff like random stabbing attacks and truck rammings for years to come.) They're going to need something else to destabilize the Middle East, and a war involving Saudi Arabia would serve that purpose nicely.

"They [the US and Iraqi Governments] know physically who this guy is, but his backstory is just myth", said Patrick Skinner of the Soufan Group, a security consulting firm. "He's managed this secret persona extremely well, and it's enhanced his group's prestige", said Patrick Johnston of the RAND Corporation, adding, "Young people are really attracted to that." Being mostly unrecognized, even in his own organization, Baghdadi was known to be nicknamed at some time about 2015, as "the invisible sheikh"

Will the real Badhdadi please stand up?! Please stand up!

They are reporting that he fled Iraq for Syria. Looks like he's alive.

As for the Jewish parents... disinfo? But as we all know, the disinfo also hides some truthful info. Wikipedia says he was radicalized in a US prison so it could a plant the whole way.

Oh the irony! Even if just internet myth! It made me laugh!

I don't actually think Al-Baghdadi is even a real person anymore.

I mean he was, but he was crippled in 2014, not only that but he's been dead for the past 6 months.

I think Al-Baghdadi lost control over the Islamic State thanks to his crippled condition and was maintained by the new leadership (probably a committee rather than one individual) as a figurehead leader for the state & movement.

He was never known for his public appearances or speeches like Osama Bin Laden was, so would it make any difference if he was alive or dead? Most of his communications to his followers and the world were written, and anyone could write those and merely sign his name.

It most certainly would not be the first time such an organisation has practiced in such a way. Indeed the Islamic State's predecessor, Islamic State of Iraq (which Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi was a member, and then leader of), used such methods with their previous leader Abu Omar Al-Baghdadi. A man who did not exist following the death of their founder and was instead a fictional character until a member of the group could gather enough support to become the "real" Abu Omar.

We’ll probably never get a smoking gun on this but theirs no doubt the US has great input and control of this movement

Go to 7:30-1 of this video below and you’ll hear a CIA agent say:

“We literally had agents inside the camp”

www.pbs.org...

The camp was where the founder of ISIS Abu Musab al-Zarqaw
was involved in---real deep extreme jihadi nuts

Listening to this CIA agent gives you a real feel on how something like the control of ISIS could have been done.

Who really is Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi

It is the idea that there was some secret Snowden document that revealed that Abu Bakar al-Baghdadi, the current leader of the Islamic State – Ibrahim Khalif – is in fact a Mossad agent, and this was apparently proven by these documents.

Now this was picked up by some major alternative media outlets and because of that was then posted to tens of thousands of other outlets and it just mushroomed from there. Every single one of them basically just sourcing some reports, generally from the Gulf Arab Press or something of that sort, and not really looking into it. Of course they would always mention the fact that this sources from Snowden documents ‘New Snowden documents reveal…’ of course it would never ever link to those documents because they don’t exist.

There has been a lot of work put into trying to source where did this rumor actually start and the earliest that can be found is a post on an Arabic website with a German domain name that posted an article that translates to ‘Snowden, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi: the result of a three-nation intelligence operation cooperation’, and again there’s absolutely nothing to this. The existence of those documents have been denied by everyone who has access to them from Greenwald to WikiLeaks and everyone else. The documents that never been shown or in any way revealed as to how this strange Arabic German website supposedly got its hands on it, but again this sources to absolutely nothing. It’s from the ether. It’s completely made up, and the most disappointing part is that the alternative media picked it up and started using it as absolute concrete 100 percent established fact, despite the fact that there was literally nothing sourcing it, there was nothing behind it, and that is why, as always, it’s exceptionally important to have your facts straight and to have your sources straight and to know where this information is supposedly coming from.

Hey I’m not saying, given the exceptionally big question mark that is Abu Bakar al-Baghdadi and this person, this character ‘s background? We know almost nothing about him so it certainly could be the case that it is an intelligence operation, that he is an intelligence plant, that he was radicalized in Camp Bucca or by the Pentagon as part of some PSYOP operation. All of those things are absolutely valid speculation and I assume that it is actually something of that sort, but there is absolutely zero evidence for this supposed Mossad connection and so we should not parrot it as iron-clad fact,
.
