You must be from Philadelphia.
Born and raised in the midwest . But man I love that song..
When good luck charms are mentioned in professional sports, the one name that always comes up is "Kate Smith". Never in professional sports has there ever been an unlikely combination that has worked so well. The radio star of yesteryear and the "Broad Street Bullies". But you couldn't argue the results and the love affair that grew between Flyer Fans and that first class lady.
The same could be said about a number of identity politics or social justice orgs.

This is what happens when a single issue political institution outlives its own cause.
It steadily becomes more insane, backing more and more outlandish & nonsensical positions in a laughable attempt to stay relevant.

a chapter of the NAACP doesn't speak for the whole national organization, and i don't know why the OP Is trying to make it seem as if this is something the entire NAACP is stumping for.
or do i....

I think that the NAACP is racist and demand its removal.
Funny thing about demands, though--no one cares.

It only seems that way if you don't read the OP. He clearly states it's a chapter in Cali.

but i did read the OP... the quote clearly refers to the chapter. the title, most of the rest of the OP, and nearly all the responses in the thread speak of 'the NAACP' as if it's the whole organization.
to me, that is distorting the facts of the matter to play to the people who are already biased against the NAACP in the first place.
