Well of course that's how it was portrayed by a lot of the press. That's what they want everyone to think. I've seen numbers that for about 2/3, Trump had nothing to do with their vote, too.

I think it all depends on what you want to believe and that local issues might have been more important for most folks than the president.

Now that is how you start a term of office - running away from some women with construction paper signs...

They should have to wait 7 days after the purchase of said construction paper, before they are allowed to take it home...

Are we proposing a background check on the purchase of all construction papers and possibly magic markers?

They sting!

trump really didn't have anything to do with me getting turned off by the republicans in the va elections.
it was those danged postcards, coming weekly, sometimes more often, always negative about the dem candidate, but saying absolutely nothing, not even mentioning the name of the republican running against him.
it seemed so danged stupid to me!!!

there's two ways to make it in this world, showing how you excel above everyone else, or trying to portray just how badly others fall short and trying to tear them down. wake me up when our elections lean more towards the first tactic and stop with the bull that they are pulling!!!

And for all you folks downplaying this and making jokes about the guy and his victory...

Virginia just flipped 14 seats from red to blue. That's the biggest Democratic pickup since 1899. Just stop and think about that for a second.

Also, the Democrats now will have veto power in post-census electoral map drawing...this is a first since 1991.

I'm not sure if the joking, jabs, snide comments and sarcasm here are just folks "fronting" because they're scared or what ... but this is a pretty big deal.

And to add insult to injury, let's not forget a transgender individual also beat an incumbent who once called himself "Virginia's chief homophobe" that's also quite interesting.

Let them laugh all they want. If this is the best they got to feel good about what happened yesterday then they are in for a very upsetting November next year. Complacency is a HUGE killer, and it is very dangerous to be complacent with Trumpism. It isn't exactly as popular as they want to believe.
