My dad was a military man and when I was very young we lived in a military duplex. Next door was a family of three. The dad used to beat the mom all
the time. He would beat her so hard we would hear it all the time. It was the 1970's and those kinds of things were just accepted somehow. Fast
forward twenty years and many military moves later. We ended up living in the same neighborhood as those people again. The dad jumped out of a plane
and his parachute didn't open properly and he broke every bone in his back. He lived, but was in severe pain. My family all thought he got his just
punishment. They were still married after all those years too! The son turned out much nicer than the dad. So #1 it is possible to live, #3 don't
beat your spouse, it will come back to haunt you!
