What to do if your parachute fails (the cloth kind and not the golden one) is both informative and funny... So... for those who can watch enjoy... For those who cannot I would suggest before you go sky diving take a moment to watch the video..youtu.be...

A failing parachute has never killed anyone. It's always the hitting the ground that is the problem.

Drop, and stop. Suddenly.

Let's see if I remember this correctly:

C-130 rollin' down the strip,
Airborne daddy gonna take a little trip.
Stand up, Buckle up, Shuffle to the door,
Jump right out and count to four,
1 - 2 - 3 - 4
Now if my chute don't open wide,
I got another one by my side.
If that one should fail me too,
Look out below, I'm comin' through!

Rhyme is good, if simple.
Meter, not so much.

I wonder if yelling "catch me!" would help.

Once had a so called "hard"/fast opening, ripped up the chute "L" wise at a length of 1.20x0.40. It was a rather fast landing...

That's exactly the reason I had such a short military career. All those cadences we had to learn with their simplistic rhymes and stumbling meters.

No, not really. Not being able to run more than a mile or so before nearly going into respiratory arrest was more of a factory, I think...

The Army-Cadence website has the correct text.

I got this fear then when I'm on a plane I will get thrown out of it and lose consciousness due to the lack of oxygen just to wake up without knowing what is happening just before the splat

S'pose you could try and rotate as fast as possible, wind yourself tight and let go !

Go for the deepest landing without power record !
