No idea how much of it is true though. I wouldn't be surprised if GoFundMe thing already has been set up.

It's a free country (partially) so people still have the freedom to donate if something comes available.

Sure. They are also free to lie and con people.

There is a huge difference between boycotting and death threats.

Funny that. The NFL players received death threats for silently kneeling during the anthem. Why is it not an issue for you two when its them silently protesting, but for these vocal restaurant owners you're all over the place?

Death threats, harrassment, never acceptable. They are, unfortunately, a reality on social media, in public. What would you have authorities do? Silence everybody who may be critical of these restaurant owners because of this? Doesn't work that way.

At the end of the day these owners made a choice of posting those comments online, and they've made a choice closing their place of business as a result. People reserve the right to either be critical of them or support them.

Yeah, they could be making up everything. I could be a unicorn with the ability to type on a very large keyboard also.

But in reality, I'm a ninja-astronaut and a male model.

Whatever floats your boat. I'm sure you can open a GoFundMe thing and the nutty SJWs will be donating to you in droves.

Curious... why do you keep saying that?

I just wonder why a restaurant owner finds it necessary to become a political mouthpiece for right-wing dogma.

Why associate his business with politics ?

Why not just run a restaurant and do politics separately.

I get the impression that people keep implying it, either that or they associate my free speech with death threats.

They never once implied that. They are talking about those people who have made death threats, not you.

Funny, if I had a business the last thing I would do is advertise controversial political stances.

Why provoke customers?

I don't understand this guy

Does he want to make money or make political points

There is a problem.

People HAVE been equating ignoring speech with denying speech.

Death threats deny speech. Death threats are, "If you speak your opinion, I will kill you".

Now I see that as vastly different to ignoring someone speaking. Everyone has the right to ignore people's speech.

There is nothing that compels or forces someone to listen to speech.

But people have disagreed with that.

That is my main issue.

People see ignoring speech as the same as infringing or silencing speech.

Neither did I.

So that makes the two of us.

I've never seen any one claiming such thing. I guess I am missing it.

I linked a thread that even specified it in the OP.

But to each his own I suppose.

I see expression, free expression as a very fragile object that people really don't understand or even care about.

I don't see it. People are free to ignore speech. That isn't the same as silencing speech.
I use my remote control to ignore speech all the time. They are free to continue their speech.

Then you and I agree.
