To me, this looks like a serious problem. If you think Kim Jong-Il won’t push to get a missile that can hit America you’re very much mistaken. You also have the problem, he might already have this capability. Now even if you send a downgraded Nuclear War-Head into say, Los Angeles it’d do a lot more damage than Hiroshima or any other event similar to this. The fallout would cause the mass amount of damage and targeting something such as L.A. would also have massive financial repercussions.

So, either he doesn’t have them and America knows this (why they’re playing it down) or they’re not seeing the serious implications of it. On another note, he might of announced this because they now have missiles that are ready to hit the Western Seabed. I remember reading something on them testing a missile/supposedly testing one, but I can’t find the link.

Once they have long range Nuclear Weapons, there's not much you can do about them. Japan won't dare hold American troops nor will Australia. (Missiles will easily be able to hit them.)

China won't want the risk of a Nuclear War on their doorstep, fallout would # them up good. So it is doubtful they'll be too keen on any sort of american invasion. Best you can do is hope to cut all trade with N.K. before they have missiles that can hit America.

That Kim guy is going a good job scaring people, including his own people. He even gassed, and gas his own citizens for not agreeing. He is crazy, so crazy that he may launch against China, Japan, and South Korea.

You can not deny that something is brewing.
China may get a taste of its own stupidity for helping NK with nuclear and nuke carriers. China will not defend NK, and they are on the U.S.'s side on this. China can provide direct land access to northern NK, as retaliation to China, NK can.... well, NK has the ability to launch at major Chinese cities, as well as
SK and Japan... if anything goes, Japan will get it for sure.
I think you guys know where I'm going with this...
How should we do it if NK becomes the aggressor? And how?

True is that this goverment knew ans they knew that we knew about this for a long lonG time. Why would you get amazed about it?.. that have had nuclear weapons for a long time now. Actually since early 1990's. It has been covered by this goverment and other countries in order not to make another mess around the world and start a velic encounter or proposotions for it. Many many presidents and goverment officials are very awared of this situation. FOOD FOR PEACE. simple explained.

At the end people, is all about the CASH. Have that very precent in your mind and make some reflections about the new things comming up.

There is no way he would strike first. DPRK would be wiped off the face of the map. He is blustering for attention and to get money. The consequences could be leaking material to terrorists, who would use a nuke without remorse, or igniting a new arms race in the region. I don't think anyone believes he is ready to use a weapon ? It's too late to stop him from getting it. Even without the nuke, he has one of the largest standing armies in the world. No one was planning on invading him in the first place. Too much effort/too little reward.

I agree, it's easier to just 'pay him off' with aid. I'm sure SK doesn't want the responsibility of feeding those people. God forbid the DMZ is eliminated! This little guy has screwed up his people so badly, we'd have walking zombies spreading throughout the world and no one to take care of them!

Russia and China will get tired of babysitting him and his 'zombies'. His resources are drying up and soon won't have anything to offer other countries in return. He'll lose his aid, and won't have anymore carrots to dangle in front of his Armies.

Let him swear, scream, and threaten all he wants. He's simply trying to get more aid for his army. His army is starving, unless he does something to increase aid they'll ultimately turn against him. Anarchy is what I see in his future!

Have you ever really been desperate? You will do things that you never ever thought that you would. If he feels he is going to lose control and be ousted he might just start a war either as a last desperate act to stay in power or a WTF, I'm going down but I'm not going down alone.

Soemone i knew that was in special forces used to say " If I don't win, no one does."

China can fix this, not sure what their plans are.
NK is dependent on China so they should do more. May be Taiwan has something to do with this. Like, China will fix NK if China can have Taiwan.

no, spent fuel rods from heavy water reactors are used for weapons grade, nk has such reactors and no inspectors in nk to see what they are doing with them.
