I have arrived at the conclusion that this world is an amazingly realistic simulation, but I also question whether this makes any real difference for us and any other supposedly alive things. I believe that my consciousness is the essential part of me, and in fact it is the only part of me that will endure long term. My consciousness is not a product of ones and zeroes.

Because I have experienced strong so-called Mandela Effects, I see this as a manifestation of the less than solid reality we find ourselves in.

I don't want to speculate as to what or who is the source of this simulation. That question leads nowhere constructive. I just marvel at the mystery.

Personally.. I would love to master hacking it and thus potentially being able to manipulate it to the benefit of myself and others using the available constructs.. but that's just me.

The philosophical questions it raises are numerous. Its fun but kind of depressing to think about.

Good post though.

i has 2 " standard answers " to this issue :

1 - the universe APPEARS and ACTS real to me - and thats all that matters - and i act accordingly . now if we had access to " god mode " or " cheat codes " - it would be a different matter - but see below

1b - like i say - the universe acts real to me - but yet i still do stuff every nonth that other people think is insane - yes - i and my mates know we could die / be left crippled - but we to it anyway - with the best risk management and survival strategies `we can muster

therese nothing to beat the exhilaration of looking back at what you just did - with the euhphoria of " we are still alive
"

we are not foolish - or reckless - and know we could die - but people die every day - simply crossing the road

what if we had " god mode " - i believe that the novelty of " god mode " or " cheat codes " would wear off very VERY quickly .

i do things - because there is a risk - take the edge away - and life is simply dull

2 - why ? - the " simulation " - hypothesis simply creates another layer of complexity that has no more rational explaination

3 - marmite

This whole simulation thing has kind of disrupted my life. I think it's confused me spiritually and I've begun to wonder if anything really matters anymore.

i keep thinking there's some kid playing the game of my life, and just when I need a good break, he goes off to school. 😁

I really hope life has more meaning than a computer simulation is making it all up.

It would be nice if us humans could finally understand what we're doing here instead of living in the dark, praying on wooden benches that things go our way.

It's not a simulation. We have experimental error in reality. We never have experimental errors with simulations. There are too many exception points cause by the wave nature of reality.

In the end, truth matters. Maybe not so much now while we are stuck in this simulation, but if we are to escape its reach we need to be able to decipher what is real and what is not. Can you imagine what we are missing out on if this is a simulation?

So you just brush off the idea that your greater consciousness could be held here against its will and find pleasure in the mystery that you are ignorant of reality outside this simulation?

You, sir, are the perfect little sheep and those who keep us in bondage would relish the fact they have somebody like you so hoodwinked by the system.

What is a simulation ? One could say that it is a "reality of lower level", because it is a reality that is contained in another reality.

If you believe in a god, then you must admit that the reality we live in is not the reality of god, thus we live in a reality of lower level, thus we live in a simulation that is computed by the mind of god.

But even if you don't believe in any particular god(like I do), you have to admit that we live in a simulation that is ran by our brain, because our brain filters everything : colors don't really exist, they are just the way our brains translate different light waves frequencies. Sound as we know it doesn't make any "sound", but it is just vibrations that our brains translate into something else that we call "noise" or "sound". It could have been that our brain translates light frequencies into what we call sound, and sound waves into different colors. We could have been creatures that communicate through an appendix that emits light, and so on.. Thus through our brains, we live in a lower level reality, because we don't have direct access to that input, we cannot bypass our brain..

Maybe you did just that and caused pain to others whilst benefiting yourself. Due to the consequences of your actions, you got put back in the simulation to learn the consequences.

The current world globalists are possibly manipulating the world to benefit themselves whilst the other 99.9% get screwed and bombed. Karma will make them suffer for many generations now.

Its a real world and real universe. Its our paths that are already set by us in agreement with God. One path (Jesus Christ) leads back to Him. Every other path leads to a another lifetime in the universe via reincarnation.

I think the kid is you. I like too think of life as a class or lesson. We select the next lesson and dive in to get the full experience in this world/ simulation. It wouldn't work as well if we were aware of the simulation, unless the lesson was to learn how to become aware (which many seem to be learning now).

I don't believe was can say it is or isn't a simulation.

UberL33t

What if we already are in a hack of a simulation. We can't know that at this point either.

If it is a simulation, we could be in one that someone has created as model universe to be better then the real universe.

1's and 0's is a binary system.

If that was the function of consciousness, we would have discovered it by now.

This doesn't mean you aren't a buzzing robotic top that runs on math though, you absolutely are.

Your consciousness is more sophisticated than 1's and 0's, but this is only meant to imply it incorporates other functions(2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10...etc) as part of it's process, not more 'sophisticated than math itself'.

It's essentially undeniable the brain isn't a binary system, the amount of processing power it applies verses efficiency makes this an impossibility. It is using quantum algorithms. But it's still able to be reduced to numbers.

When you look at a computer monitor for instance, do you see or think, 0s and 1s.

0,1 - On, off ..

Computers deal with real numbers even though it's a grouping of 0s and 1s.

According to what research?

It is using quantum algorithms. But it's still able to be reduced to numbers.

And this is proven?
