What's it to me? because this perpetuates the cry to destroy our countries history. The taking down of anything related to the Civil War, the forced cancellation of Civil War reenactments, all to the tune of RACISM!!

OMG.... A banana peel tossed in a tree is racist !
OMG.... A dropped package of shoelaces are racist !!
OMG.... Being born a white male is RACIST !!!

Perhaps you don't see it. But, you sure leap out and defend when someone claims all Muslims are supporting terrorist Daesh followers (which for the record, I think you are correct in that). I guess it only matters to you when it hits close to your heart, and screw anyone else's feelings.

Yeah, that is what I see in your posting history here. But, I digress.

So, what ever happened to asking around your peers to see what the reasoning for an event like this is before reporting it to an authority? Is that too scary to speak to someone face-to-face now? The fact that someone that is in a university is not adult enough to handle this in an adult fashion is bad enough. But, that it got to the leader of the institution, and before checking into the actual facts of the complaint, he spouts off and decries the event. Only to hear the true story later, and need to issue and apology. How is that good for the PR of his university? Is that the behavior you want in someone in that position?

So crying over other people crying is constructive in what way? It reminds me of a daycare where when one baby starts crying all the other babies start crying too.

I don't identify with the left, I just find it pointless to cry over other people crying when it doesn't affect you in any way.

Every time I see a leftist using the term I remember back when the left bitched and moaned about it.

Kind of like with the whole "Fake News" thing? Conservatives absolutely hated the term yet became its biggest adopters.

What about this hits close to my heart? I think they're idiots for making a big deal out of nothing. What does that say about this thread seeing as how nothing that happened affects you in any way?

My tackle box would give them fits then. Everyone of my fish hooks has the leader tied in what could be considered a "noose".

Surely there must be some type of mind altering virus infecting the population.
Either that or the gates of hell are wide open.

You mean Fox News running the story? Thanks Fox for giving us meaningless stories that only spread the idea of racism! That's so generous of them.

It doesn't bother me at all but apparently it bothers you. I guess that puts you on the same level as these snowflakes making a big deal out of a shoelace? Seems like it to me.

How can anything constructive be added to a non-constructive topic? What comment so far has been constructive in your opinion? Because so far all I see are people showing fake outrage, just as fake as the outrage over this shoelace.

Here's something constructive: get over it, it doesn't affect you at all. If people want to be sensitive crybabies over stupid things, what's it to you?

how can u not atleast be upset at the media for running with stories like this without doing one iota of research before putting it out there for the masses?

It's FOX "News".

It's their JOB it scare/upset white people and conservatives.

oh so u didnt read the article? cause fox news is refuting the story with the facts uncovered about the situation. btw when i first heard about this it was over the radio while i was at work from a company on the complete other side of the aisle. so those would be the fear mongers you should be fingering. btw there is not one media source who doesnt pander to fear. its their #1 tactic from local to national across the board politics completely aside

What was the name of the student who called this in? To me it sounds like just another convenient non-story to cause emotional reactions from the gullible.

I think people are missing the real story.

The problem isn't that some students thought that the shoe lace was a noose,
I say nay nay,,

The problem is that students didn't know they were looking at a shoe lace.

What happened to college students?

i dont think thats it at all personally. i think they knew exactly what they were looking at and saw the opportunity to claim victimhood to try and gain something out of it. our society has created an environment where your rewarded for such things. there case after case where we hear of an incident such as this and it comes out later that the perpetrators were the supposed victims.

They've probably been conditioned to see racism anywhere and everywhere by the constant peddling of racist topics by the media.

That is sort of what I was touching upon as the issue here. What happened to asking around about it before assuming its a racial statement first and reporting it the local authority?

Jesus Christ. This snowflake generation is so sensitive they're wasting time and money investigating shoelaces because you know, shoelaces are racist.

Those triggered idiots are almost as bad as the triggered idiots that flipped out and cried over finding a banana peel.

I'm not even old. Was in school in the 90's and 2000's. My generation however would have laughed in the faces of these pansies.

We need to bring back the idea of getting a good butt whoopin for being a pansy.
