The actor was arrested in December 2015 on suspicion of possessing “hundreds” of images plus two videos featuring underage girls on his personal computer after his girlfriend alerted authorities. In fact, federal investigators discovered thousands of pornographic images with children ages 3–5 on a hard drive and 16-gigabyte USB flash drive, according to court documents.

After his release, Salling will be restricted from going within 100 feet of schoolyards, parks, public swimming pools, playgrounds, video arcades or any place frequented by minors. He must also enroll in a sex offender treatment program.

i dont like that this is my opinion but this is my opinion. the opinion of a person with kids.

i kind of dont think a person should be in jail forever for having those pictures. its #in reprehensible but in the end he is looking at pictures. IF thats al it was. no distributing that # but why the flash drive?
im saying if he was only looking, a gang of time locked up(maybe. the argument is there for people coming out worse), restrictions, registrations, counseling sounds about right.

i feel like if you can be jailed for looking at pictures(or having pictures) then who decides what the line is for the image?

How exactly do you treat a sex offender? If someone likes little kids then I don't think anything will change that. They may act like they're cured but they're really not.

Never heard of the guy but I'm glad he got caught.

I'ts strange to me that some abnormal attractions need to be 'treated' in our society and other deviant attractions are to be embraced. I don't know what to do about these deviants, but if people can't help who they are attracted to then how do we fairly treat these people?

I can understand why some people think they should be locked up for life, if he had pictures and got off to them then it's probably only a matter of time before he would act in his desires and get the real thing (yuck).

Can't say I agree or disagree but I understand the notion.

I know what you mean (if I read your post correctly). In a way I feel for them because they can't really help that they're attracted to children but another side of me feels no sympathy at all for them, especially the ones who act out their desires.

It's a difficult subject to talk about for sure.

i dont know how to treat. i am not a doctor.

maybe he will never stop liking kids. maybe he will get out and look at pictures again.

I knew of one or more cases in the past...both one released and one commited.. that they just started drawing them instead.
