I saw something yesterday that mentioned Marilou Danley may have two grown sons named Ali and Zafar. Those names do sound muslim.

"no history or indicators" angle

Certainly rules out the possibility of any kind of profiling, in particular bearded goat herders.

I wouldn't be surprised if this whole thing is just another psyop.

Neither would I. There are so many #ed up agendas these days being agitated by so many #ed up psychos who all think they are operating with divinity it's breathtaking.

I feel like I'm watching the disintegration of society one tweet at a time.

Best add Indonesia and the Phillipines to the travel ban just to be safe...
(and no, I'm in no way joking)

I would feel safer if America was on the travel ban, Isis seems like a mild threat compared to what you breed at home.

I don't travel outside of Alaska, let alone the US, so I'd certainly not mind such a ban.

This is an interesting story about Marilou Danley, told through people or agencies that had had contact with her. For some there was nothing unusual about her. One neighbor described her and Paddock as "closet people . . . never saw them".

Not enough is known yet. She certainly was something of a rolling stone, but that is true of many Fillipinos seeking work, while supporting people at home.

If this happened to the man you love and have been with for years, wouldn't you be hightailing it home? Afterall, the room was in her name, her bank card was in the room, the car he was using belonged to her, and you shared a home with him. If I were 100% innocent, I would have been on the next plane back.

Something about this woman stinks. I will guess she doesn't come back voluntarily.

I read an article earlier today that said she was from Indonesia (with an Australian passport). If that's the case it may even be more to your point in that Indonesia has the largest Muslim population. However, it is my understanding that they were married for some time. It is interesting that she was out of the country when it occurred.

I just read in a news article that law enforcement said they started dating in the spring. But, not sure how accurate that is cuz they lived together in Mesquite, and I don't know how long. But, if true they started dating in the spring, it sure matches up to what ISIS is claiming, that he converted several months ago.

Living together for other reasons, and dating as a cover story?

I've also seen it reported that he was sending money (6 figures) to the Philippines, even when she was here with him.
Maybe it was to her family? Maybe not?

Has ISIS ever done some honeypot recruiting?

What Americans are traveling or have traveled to other countries in modern times to committ mass murder and would constitute a travel ban? (The military doesnt count obviously)

On the other hand, there are dozens (just those that we know of) traveling and that have traveled to the EU and the States to murder.

But whatever floats your boat!

One thing I've been keeping in the back of my mind through all of this is that there were some thwarted bombings and successful bombings and vehicle/truck attacks courtesy of ISIS recently (in the UK if i recall correctly and not sure about any on US soil ) but there were plenty of ISIS mentions to those out there to keep doing what they were doing and also tacked on to that was a statement of some sort related to targeting more malls and large gatherings. This would certainly qualify and if this guy was trying to avenge the US for something that got his daddy on the FBI top wanted list then I could see him turning to ISlam and carrying this out. Unfortunately, there is still so much speculation but he did have a video going of him doing the deed, it is possible that it was streamed offshore to ISIS, maybe it will be used as a new training tape, you know: "Here's the setup, you need this, that, this other thing and don't forget to order up All your snackbars before you pull that final trigger and blow your head off." ISIS doesn't even have to pay their actors, in fact it seems he may have wired them money for the honor of being able to carry this out, who knows. I sure don't but in the bottom of my gut, that is how I feel things went.

I know, but a guy who is an accountant and smart enough to become a millionaire through real estate speculation must have more we don't know about if he was going to be converted that quickly.

I would speculate that there were some sort of heat coming down on him and he decided to go out with a boom. Wether the heat coming down was real or imagined I wouldn't know of course.

Smart or lucky ? He was a gambler.

Who really knows right now, right? I just find it quite unlikely that a man as successful as that would be able to become radicalized in that short of a period of time. Weirder things have happened of course, just think it's unlikely.
