Yes, Jacy I do appreciate every word you share with ATS. Please rant, whine, be a dork, or even a supportive person when you can visit the Shed.
I'll check for PM's replies, and emails every day to see if there is anything from Jacy.
I actually went looking for the video I made (wearing my t-shirt) where I basically was just saying "hi" to everyone in the Shed. I can't find it so
must have deleted it.
I've got the movie "Jersey Boys" on in the background, so when I'm not listening to you...it's Franki Valli and the Four Seasons for now.
Here's a random one.... This was VERY important to me (the young Gordi) when I was "finding myself" as a young 'un...
I actually knew the Dionne Warwick version, and couldn't believe how much they put their own STAMP on it!
I couldn't quite understand how they found THIS in her song...
Made me understand that... everything is open to interpretation.
NOW I understand, and I think that it's genius!
(I know... I know... but listen to the instrumental solos..... LOL)
When you said it was important to the young you...it immediately reminded me of a song that was important to the young me. It was Canadian K.D. Lang
doing Roy Orbison's song "Crying".
I didn't used to like hearing different versions of a song I like...but I have changed my mind about that. I have heard re-makes of songs that to me
are better than the original.
OMG. I think I'm experiencing a freaking Mandela Effect.
I went looking for a video to post for you.
"Funkytown" originally by Lypps Inc. then remade by The Ataris.
Only now apparently The Ataris never did that song according to google...and I'm having a nervous breakdown!!!!
Edit: Okay...no...they did "Boys of Summer" remake. But that doesn't sound right to me.
I was sure they did "Funkytown" kind of rockish...I can hear it in my head.
edit on 11-10-2017 by jacygirl because: (no reason given)
Well, The Ataris did the best ever version of "Boys of Summer" that I've ever heard but I'd love to hear their version of the song that they didn't
do... or something...
Ugh, it is a good version but for some reason The Ataris doing that song doesn't seem right to me, lol.
And I can't find the remake of Funkytown, by any band recognizable so that really has me scratching my head.
I mean, I know I'm stressed...but I can hear this version of the song in my head...and all I keep thinking is, The Ataris.
Conundrum.
Ok, phew...after my Funkytown incident I started worrying that I couldn't figure out that video, lol. It's like, oh great...tonight's the night I
snap and poor Gordi is watching it happen.
I'm trying to decide between tea or cocoa here. Now I have the movie "Bridesmaids" playing, no more Franki Valli.
Isn't it getting late there?
