Nice picture of Jacy. She didn't even tell me that she died her hair.

=============================================

Jacy and everyone else:
Share whatever thoughts are on your mind here. It will make you feel better sharing with your Shed family. We are not here to think anything bad of you. Trust me, as I have shared personal information about how my mind works more here than with anyone else.

Hugs and love to all.

It is such a sad thing to see that at least 10 have died and so many houses/buildings have been destroyed. Looks like the California fires are this weeks version of 9/11. Last weeks was Las Vegas. Who knows what will happen next week.

Take care and be safe everyone.

I hope we can send some Aussie fire fighters your way soon ... you need all the help available.

I imagine it will affect your wine industry too ...

From what I have read, the fire damage to Napa Valley has been minimal. As it is harvest season most of the grapes have already been picked. Otherwise, the US would be dealing with a loss of about $50 billion dollars.

Very nice quote Night dear.
How are you in these wee hours of the new day?
Puppy has a bad tummy so I had to get up and take her out, I was hungry and cooked some buttered green beans that I had with delicious red peppers onions potatoes and yams.
I love fall. I swim in cheep peppers, satisfying my Hungarian pallet once a year. Sweet delicious peppers, for breakfast lunch and supper.
I see Jacy is back will go visit perhaps.

... I thought I should move into the new Shed before someone scoops my room.

Take your room, they would have to get past me first.

I am so sorry to hear about all of this but mostly the potential of you being parted from your kitty. Our animals are like mirrors of our souls. With out them the image is shattered.
You know I love you and will pray for a miracle for you.

Thank you. I am new here, but i knew that already. Still, the reassurance feels good. I am starting my morning with coffee for a change. Beer does not work anymore and i don't want the stronger liquids. And drinking is not cheap. Or maybe it is if you happen to be a millionaire but i am far from that.

I have better things than money. I have you, great souls of the shed, i have my mom, and a few IRL close friends.

I read all the conversation you had after my last post here. Touching stuff. Made me emotional.

You are the sweetest thing Fin! I just love how the Sheddites are all such sensitive and beautiful souls. They are also fun and have a great sense of humor. I would be lost without The Shed. You all add your own personal charm and uniqueness to the realm and I treasure that.

Now I must journey to the realm of dreams, but shall return when I can.

Love you all!

Morning Fin, good to see you got that coffee brewing.
But don't beat your self up about your addiction.
Every one has a place they go to escape. A safe place.
Alcohol and drugs are just more obvious and not socially acceptable.
But any one of our neurosis's will eventually detach us from our selves and thus others if we don't deal with cause of the ailment.
I think it is part of the human condition to struggle with our short comings and through this ordeal become whole/holy.
Being judgmental, self righteous, dominant sets us apart from others just as a physical addiction. In that cocoon we may find likeminded "friends" to uphold a sense of false self, but they are only co-dependents, enablers.
But alas it is socially acceptable and applauded.

Being overly helpful to the point where ones self is eradicated, is an addiction, the reward is applause, that we fail to give our selves. This is not true compassion.
The pacifist, whos resistance to "violence" is feigned reluctance to take a stand for justice. There are true pacifist though.

There is a plethora of culturally accepted ingrained addictions.
What I am trying to say is, be kind to your self. HUGS

Hey Blue how is that gentle heart of yours?
I never know what to say to you, your situation is so dire.
I will ask you though, do you give your self room for a happy place? Even if it is just in your mind.
You need joy and comfort.

Thank you. You have a big HUG from here too. (It might be a bit smelly after a night of bad dreams but i hope it is the thought, the gesture, that counts here) I need sauna or shower but that comes after this coffee wakes me up.

So hard to be kind to myself. Now this may sound like some mother-theresa-act but later i will clarify it is not. What i am trying to say is that the best "kicks" i get when i help another human being. Or animal. And i end up wrecking myself, unable to even help myself. I have had so much support from almost literally everywhere. And i need to, and i want to, pay back. And when i mess up my life from time to time, the level of frustration is overwhelming.

I want to be on the side of the good people. I want to be on the side of the light. But sometimes it gets so dark that i am unable to see the love and caring around me.

I need sauna

Ahh sauna. How I miss it. When I lived in Denmark it was part of my life. The Public swimming facility had it all, sauna, steam room, finish bath, you know, ice cold water. How I miss living in a civilized country.

So hard to be kind to myself. .......What i am trying to say is that the best "kicks" i get when i help another human being. Or animal. And i end up wrecking myself, unable to even help myself.

You have to!!! Can't you see your "help" towards others is killing you because you don't have the inner strength. It isn't selfish to nurture your self. But perhaps you are afraid to see the truth about what you actually need?
Say NO once in a while, say "Let me think about it". Give yourself room. Feel what is right for you.

And when i mess up my life from time to time, the level of frustration is overwhelming.

This just tells me you are searching for the truth. Perhaps your unique path is a labyrinth. What do you learn from the frustration? Be overwhelmed, pull the strength of that pain out of it and turn it to your benefit.

I want to be on the side of the good people. I want to be on the side of the light. But sometimes it gets so dark that i am unable to see the love and caring around me.

I don't know what your darkness is. That is your own private diamond in the rough. Keep it close to your heart.
But you must choose. You must define for your self what "good" is.
And you must love and care for your self so you have strength to give back.
We can't give from an empty well.

Good Morning.

Just checking in.
Nice to see our [[[[[Jacy]]]]] sorting her shed-room out.
Even better to see that our noble shed-queens have managed to TALK!!! LIVE!!!! WoooHOOOO!!!!!

There also seems to be a lot of turmoil, upset, struggle and pain going on? (With... Everyone?!?!?!)

All I'm going to say on that is:
Look After Yourself.
You might want to be there for everyone else all the time, BUT you will be no use to them or anyone else if YOU aren't fit & healthy (both physically & mentally) to do so.
EVERYONE will feel the benefit if YOU take the right amount of "me-time" for Yourself.

Re-Charge your own batteries first & foremost, and then you will be much more able to help everyone else.
It's NOT being selfish. It's being sensible, It's being pragmatic and forward thinking, and it will do you the world of good.
Find out what does your spirit good and go do it.
(It could be as simple as a walk in the park, or climbing a hill or reading a good book. I use a $20 hammock!!).
Unplug. Get away from all of the bad news and go relax and re-charge.
(That's why I disappear for a day or two sometimes... and believe me, it works!)

OK - I now need coffee.

BigGx

"Great minds ..." something or other.
I wanted to give a twisted retort but decided to be nice since I am tired.

Off to dreamland with all my cuddle bunnies cradling me in sweet slumber.
Have a grand day all and you too Gordi.

I think this is the first time that Wis stayed up later than me. LOL!

Nice to see in depth discussions this morning. One must certainly take time to nurture themselves.
I often have too much time on my hands and get lonely so I get great satisfaction from being able to be more available to others, but yes, even I with all this free time have needed to be here for myself.

One thing I see all too often is that many people hold things inside and feel guilty for bringing up their problems. I used to be the same way years ago and learned that it can eat away at you and that it is freeing to be able to release that by sharing with others. To have someone listen and hear us and understand is a wonderful thing and has made a huge difference in my own life.

Hi Night Star (and Everyone),

I'm supposed to be productive today and get things sorted, thrown out or packed. I will admit I'm not getting much done. I am lurking here a little and just wanted to say "hi". (leaving the tab open so I can catch up on a tea & smoke break)

Hope everyone is good.

Hi jacy ... I've always found the process of sorting and packing difficult because of the decisions involved. Sometimes it helps to do it in small chunks so it doesn't become overwhelming... but it can still be difficult because of our emotional attachment to things we still cherish.
Do you have a friend that could store a little stuff for you , while you work at getting out of the woman's shelter?

I really feel bad for the position you are in... I have an extra bedroom if you are willing to move. PM me , if interested. Take care ... and remember one step at a time.
