Your post made me hungry! Actually, i think just writing "bacon" would have done it but all the descriptions and great food pics truly did it!

Good morning everyone. Coffee as usual. After that, something to eat. Not as great food as kaelci's, but something anyway.

My Finnish friend, I...I...I truly feel for you. I can give you my Swiss bank account number in a PM and after that everything can be arranged. Bollinger? Dom Perignon? Heineken? Anything!

Oh, first of all, i don't have about any money right now. And second, the Finnish customs duty would rip me off, it would most likely become more expensive than buying them right here.

But i appreciate the friendly gesture and i would have trusted you!

...You are not over doing it!!! This is your life...

...I have pondered what to say. "Just think of the bright side" "Tomorrow is another day" "Every cloud has a silver lining"
Pardon me but I can't stand middle class, happy go lucky clichés.
Today is all we have when we are the unfortunate many.
Hugs to you, I still don't know what to say in ways of comfort.

I think that you said it perfectly.

OK, I'm just about all packed up and ready to go.
The van is ready and I've topped up the gas tank with Pixie Dust.
Looking at the spread (Food! I meant FOOD!!!!!) she's preparing for Dave, I don't think I'll need to take many snacks...

I do need to check my route though.... Who am I picking up first??
Are the shops open for selling beer in Finland yet?
Maybe.... Holland.... Finland... over to Canada.... down through the US.... but where next?
HELP! We're never going to get there before Dave if we don't leave soon!!!

Yep, they have sold it for 3 hours by now! And with pixie dust in the tank, you can get to Mars and back before Trump can make a tweet.

Edit: Congratulations for getting the van ready. That must feel rewarding, after all the effort you have put into it!

psst Fins - it's not really "finished" yet, but it is near enough for the purposes of our online adventures to Aus!

They arrived! A friend gave me about 10 packs of rolling papers, each containing 50 papers. Thank you for your support!

If my apple wine delivery is not there yet, it is because the pixies drank it.

OK! Online adventure to Aus seems great! Can we have a barbeque when we get there? I have heard that the Aussies are really good at it.

(And Americans seem to be really dedicated to BBQ also! We here in the north, invest in beer and only some cheap low quality sausage ends up into the grill... )

EDIT: Oh but you are from Scotland! *waits for year 2035 when i can 3D-print myself a new brain* You can have all the Haggis for yourself. (i am not making stereotypes here, just joking) Do you like soccer? I find it quite slow paced but as a sport, very pure. Only the ball and the players. Not too much equipment, no sticks or such. I watch the world cup every 4 years, mainly because it is such a big event and seems to somehow unite the world in a good way.

"Bacardi Lemon Spirit: A lemon-flavoured variant for the Bacardi range, flavoured with essences of lemon, grapefruit and other citrus fruit and aged for a year. Brilliant in soft drinks and fruit juices."

Yep, Lemon rum here. Now, Finland does not sell alcohol on sundays (remember my rants about laws and regulation about everything)! but my friend made a boat trip to our fine neighbours in the south, Estonia! so to heck with laws and regulations!

*Sends pixies to shake Night Star's pillow to have a chat here*

EDIT: ok alcohol is sold on sundays. Up to 4.7% *Finspiracy starts packing and is going to move in with lightspeeddriver*

LOL - Aye!
I do love a BBQ too, we don't often have "suitable" weather but our food is excellent for BBQ'ing... Beef/Steak, Lamb, Venison, Game, Fish, Fowl & Seafood are all Top Notch!
(I did once hold a BBQ IN A BUS SHELTER! because... reasons. haha)

I LOVE haggis yes thanks! Especially those caught and cooked fresh in the wild.

Yes, I also like soccer (Glasgow Rangers & Scotland) and Rugby Union (Glasgow Warriors & Scotland).
I watched Rangers (online) playing football (soccer) today and they won 2-1 YAY! Moving them up to 2nd place in their league, and Scotland just beat Australia (ranked No.3 in the world) and almost beat NZ (ranked No.1) in Rugby Union.
Happy Days. (Although the Scotland football team just failed to qualify for the World Cup finals...
. )

I do like a good beer... Scottish Stout is very good (Try Belhaven Scottish Oat Stout - 7.5%abv if you ever can!)
And (of course) I do like a nice single malt Scotch Whisky, but am happy to try just about anything!

I can't believe this. I was thinking, and actually wrote, about not having nice weather here to BBQ and i was using the word "suitable" but decided to edit it out. And there you are!

So... rivalry with Celtic it must be?

Yeah there is an intense rivalry!
(I enjoy the intense rivalry, but I hate and abhor the "religious" venom that has attached to it!)
I actually cheer FOR Celtic when they are playing in European competition as they're representing "us" Scots... but not many Rangers fans will admit to doing that!!! hehe
I don't like the way money has determined which country's teams can succeed and which can't.
"BIG" leagues (like in England, Spain and Germany) get all of the big money from TV which funds the purchase, coaching and wages of top players, which increases the TV value of their leagues, which generates more money, which allows them to... and so on.
End result is... Great footballing nations like Scotland, Denmark, Sweden etc lose out on the TV money. Domestic leagues suffer. Standards drop. Wages drop. The game there doesn't attract the best players etc
It's just wrong that it is all directed and controlled by money.
But things are how they are!

What are you up to today Fins? Are we dropping by Lightspeeds place?

I don't know man... Eating right now. Mix of rice, sliced ham and mozzarella cheese. Yeah get your van running, let's go get Night and Mark and then full speed at LighSpeedDriver. Let's all get cheered up!

I got a full litre of that lemon rum. 32%. Had a few shots. I think i will share bad jokes, good music and forget who had the van after all?

A friend invited me over

So i take this opportunity to thank you all for giving me a larger view of the world. I am new to foreign discussion forums. I encounter so many good people here that it helps me regaining my faith in humanity. I was very lost before the shed. Other good things have happened also, but the shed plays a major role in my current wellbeing.

*Heads out to the bus stop*

Haven't laughed that hard in ages!!

OKAY!

So, my son and I leave for Brisbane in about 3 hours. (It's currently 4am, been awake since 2:30am because apparently I'm crazy.)
We'll be back before dinner time.
I assume there'll still be at least a smidgen of moonshine left when we get back!

No floods yet! (Well, in the region I'm concerned about anyway.)
So, anxieties dissipating; butterflies replacing.

Moving in with Light? LOL I can see the parties now!

I am all behind and catching up in here.

PS: The pixies drank the wine. Good thing the Elves have a new batch made.
