Which front page? I've had NEW forum page bookmarked for 5 years, signed in. If youre going to the sites opening page? Look at the dates... NEW is up to the minute...and ALL kinds of diverse topics today, now, 3 mins ago and this morning back...

You can have any "START" page as a "FRONT"... Personal choice. NEW, LIVE, RECENT.... Bookmark wherever to open first.

But, I get ya....

Who cares.

I just click on "recent" and follow the more active topics. If I want something more specific, I just look in a particular forum. I haven't visited the ATS front page in years.

I think for me back in the beginning? Someone turned me on to ATS, I bookmarked a page, and kept going back eventually ending up at NEW or RECENT....

With the start of front pages being over a few day period....at least the other 2 are a very WIDE breath of topics talked about up to the minute....farther along...

I learned later too about not using an app, and to go to the Desktop site...even while on mobile.

I understand your point, however, ATS is primarily a business enterprise, they have a right to go after the biggest audience they can based on their own judgment of what draws viewers.

One doesn’t have to necessarily like their choice but should I think understand it

The real reason the Alexa rank is down is because we no longer allow Alexa's widget on the site to count visitors (it was dragging down load times terribly), that ranking is a wild ass guess made by Alexa's algorithm. It has nothing to do with reality.

Wow, then the irony of the Alexa site listing ATS as 'slow to load' is pretty thick.

Yeah... It's a completely useless metric of the site. As are pretty much all of the "ranking sites" that require a cookie onsite.

I absolutely agree with you! The first and foremost goal for ATS must be to survive. If UFOs and Yetis can't sustain a website then by all means bring in the US domestic politics (if that even deserves the designation). Just paint them with a different color, so I can run from them easily :-)
[BTW: I think US politics are a farce because if - with many capable and interesting candidates - the US can wind up with a choice between Hillary and Trump, then there is something severely broken in the system. The US should look to European countries: Most of them have a much more diverse political landscape where multiple parties play a role. They form coalitions, make compromises and, in essence, are better able to tolerate a different viewpoint. Shades of grey instead of rape, if you like :-)]

This is what I learn from this thread: I have to use a different approach to consuming ATS in order to find those gems that interest me. Like bookmarking something else than the homepage or this very useful tip (thank you!):
