I always wondered what people think my voice sounds like.

From what I can remember, you have a great voice, soothing and polite.

I have heard True Brit's voice in videos and LOVE it! I love accents, especially British ones like his!
I have heard Gordi The Drummer's voice in vids and love it as well, a cool Scottish accent! Oh and let's see...Errollorre's from videos, very nice indeed! Have a couple more I know of, but I don't know if they want to be mentioned.

OK, I got curious (probably to my own downfall).

What voice do people put to my posts?

Oddly enough, I don't even read my own posts in my own voice.

But between podcasts, radio shows, Skype conversations and meeting a few staff in person, Trep is right that we can actually know what people sound like. And for the record, Trep and GAOTU are pretty close to what I imagined as far as voices and speech patterns go except I reversed the pitch of their voices in my mind. Still do when reading their posts, but never confuse their voices while speaking with both of them.

Maxmars, on the other hand, sounded nothing like I imagined, but I did adapt his voice to his posts.

To the members that use a voice based on avatars ... what Dragon voice do you use and what about all of the animal ones?

Fun thread, makes a great change!

more often than not, most people end up sounding like Beaker from the Muppet show.

the only one I have a distinct voice for is zaphod. it's a Barry white meets art bell sort of mix.

oh, and Angel of light sounds like Glenda the good witch and tiny Tim.

It fluctuates. Depends if the tide's in or out.

Rickymouse: I imagine a low, resonant and quiet voice like an NPR announcer.

DBCowboy: sounds to me like Walter in the Big Lebowski, but with a southern accent.

Antediluvian: Sounds (in my head) like Amy Goodman

Ketsuko: a breathy high voice, and talking fast. Timbre and cadence of Talia Shire, without the New York accent. When I disagree with her, she develops a lisp.

Intrepid, Sublimecraft, and several others share the chill California flat voice of the cool guy in every college lit class. Then someone drops a "mate" or says "colour" or mentions their pregnancy, and I have to switch the voice in my head.

Phage: my high school principal

I have a bit of a yooper accent. I do hear people's posts in a voice I think they might have.

Interesting.

I actually have a pretty low voice for a woman.

Closer to the pitch of Shepard from Mass Effect though I tend to be more nasal thanks to sinus problems than smokey. I'd love to sound like Jennifer Hale.
