Just came across this story, which is apparently still developing.

A reported active shooter was loose in the intensive care unit of the Dartmouth–Hitchcock Medical Center in New Hampshire Tuesday, according the several reports. Hospital officials were instructing personnel to seek safe shelter or evacuate the medical campus.

One person was reported shot and a single shooter was reported loose at the medical facility.

This is a developing story.

WHY DON'T PEOPLE READ THE SIGNS!

Another incident that could've been avoided had there been adequate "weapon free zone" signs.

Well if it's true, I hope someone puts him down before he shoots anyone else

Don't hospitals have ways to lock doors and wings of their hospitals?

Sarcasm.

It doesn't help, but it can't hurt!

Be nice if they could make up their minds. Is he or is he not in custody?

Suspect in custody after woman, 70, killed at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center

LEBANON, N.H. —

A suspect was taken into custody Tuesday after a 70-year-old woman was shot and killed at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center's main campus in Lebanon, officials said.

Attorney General Gordon MacDonald confirmed that the victim was a 70-year-old female patient in the intensive care unit of the hospital. He said the suspected shooter was a family member and has been taken into custody.

Looks to be over.

It is utterly baffling to me why hospitals do not require metal detectors...
In Dallas, parkland has metal detectors and BUMC does not...

There is no valid reason why any hospital, let alone level I trauma centers such as those mentioned, would forgo weapons searching..
Hospital situations bring out the most disturbing and despicable of human tendencies...

I have been to that hospital many times, and can confirm there are no metal detectors at the entrances.

I have a sneaking suspicion this is a case of the (adult) child euthanizing their mother after a long drawn out and painful illness. The hospital is being VERY hush hush and cagey at the press conferences I have been seeing on the local news here. I can imagine the mother being kept alive against the ill of the children if there was no signed DNR.

Just a possibility nobody here has mentioned yet.
