Why do animals keep running away from me?!

I run to them and the run away. I slowly walk to them and they just run away. I even tried using camo net/camo clothing in bush. All I'm carrying is a gun and a knife. Why do they keep running away?! I just want to pet them.

Uh, okay, joking or? They can tell your intent especially carrying weapons. Why don't you "make a picture" of them instead of hunting? Friendly works better.

Eating garlic slightly helps keep the biting ones(mosquitoes) away, as does dietary options.

Roaches, naturally try bay leaves placed around where you sleep.

If you cover yourself in their urine, they won't be afraid of you, only other people will. win-win...... I think

To hunt something , a hunter has to outsmart its prey .
Or be really , really fast.

They can sense you are Satan.

You need to learn to control the drooling ... it can be alarming ( even to casual observers ) ... try eating a dry cracker before your next - unarmed attempt at petting ..

What kind of animals? Domesticated or wild?

If domesticated, just hunker down or sit and be silent for a while. Don't make any sudden movements. If you speak use a soothing voice in a slightly higher tone, like speaking to a very small child.

If they come to you, hold out the back of your hand (slowly) for them to sniff. If they start sniffing you can use that hand to slowly touch them to pet them.

See if that helps?

If Wild, well, they gonna run, hun. Except for raccoons, and you don't wanna mess with those blinking thieves.
