i hate to be That Girl, but these pictures are useless, i'm sorry.
too small, too cropped, too low res.
a claim like this needs detail and context - you haven't even said how you found it?

their small and blurry because someone is shoveling bullsh@@.
it's obvious that they aerial shots of the station that some one photoshopped.

If I had to guess by the URL of the images, I'd say the OP has accidentally linked the image thumbnails instead of the images. Could be wrong, I've never posted images to ATS before, but it seems like an accident.

The area that "totem pole" is located is the currently active wharf, which is at the former site of Casey Station "Old Casey" and it's here:

If it were a totem pole it would be massive, and laying down on the ground.

Being that it's physical location is by the wharf and it doesn't show up on any of Casey's maps for the direct area (available here):

One can make the educated guess that this isn't a "totem pole", but just equipment that has either been delivered, dispatched or just sitting around by the wharf.

It would make no sense for such a thing to exist at Casey station

Edit:

I am correct, here is a kind of aerial view of the wharf. The area that the "totem pole" is supposed to be located appears to be a laydown yard of sorts where things are delivered / picked up from.

You can compare that image with the Google Earth screenshots and the Casey Building Map.

It might look like a totem pole, but it ain't. However you can insert any conspiracy that you think "Big Antarctica" is covering up.
edit on 9-9-2017 by SaganTheGreat because: Confirmed it's not a totem pole

Looks like top of a bus - with the air conditioner units. But a flat bed lorry with liquid gas tanks and other equipment is a better guess.

It could be a totem pole, or it could be a refinery column, or it could be the bottom of an overturned vehicle, looking at the photos.

If things get blurry enough, everything starts to look like a totem pole -- i.e., gods and demons -- if that's what you're looking for (i.e., pareidolia).

If it is a totem pole, I think I know why it's there -- some people who like totem poles and adventure thought it would be a good idea to take one to the Antarctic. First one on the block, as it were.

But then why would they leave (sacreligiously) lying on its back, having gone to all that trouble? Using Occam's razor, I'd say it's not totem pole -- it's a disused piece of junk in the Antarctic.

At extreme magnification, the best I could get is a Bird face lying on it's side holding a long tomahawk..... That is with some cavalier imagination liberties.. I would believe it more likely outdoor storage/shadows and filming position.
