This external source so far has done the best to debunk/explain the details and misconceptions of the books...

I agree, there is a lot of shade surrounding the whole ordeal.. but if you peer past all of the cultural/societal stuff, the picture it paints is nature and a deeper connection with ourselves and our surroundings.
