Don't forget Madison Avenue and marketing.

They have been engineering us to be dissatisfied materialistic consumers who constantly need the next new thing, or "look," or whatever to be "good enough and happy." That's one of the greatest lies ever told, but so often we don't see it, nor appreciate how corporate profits shape culture.

Capitalism is an attitude. Even the "socialism is evil" meme has been engineered.

And Rugged Individalism is also pure marketing of a particular mindset that appeals to rural folks far more than urban ones - it has to to with geography, and land use and a spread out community vs a tightly packed one where privacy is a luxury and often achieved not by physical distance but through "plugging in" to devices. It's more complex than that, but those factors are at play.

Social engineering of ANY kind is not welcome in democracy. We have a vote to take care of that. It is an enemy of democracy. It will destabilize democracy, possibly even dangerously and irreparably.

We have had decades of social engineering. The whole open borders, multiculturalism, diversity, business is Globalist social engineering thats been going on for decades and it has worked marvelously to produce leftist antifa millenials who are proponents of identity politics designed to divide the population along race and cultural lines. That has worked marvelously to take the public's attention away from the rampant theft by the 1% and the take over of the government by the Deep State Intelligence Agencies and contractors pushing for a new cold war with Russia so they can syphon off billions in profits.

You can argue against social engineering but its pointless because its everywhere, its insipid, its an industry creatng billions in profits for those who write the manuals and seminar and conference materials.

Also what people on ATS are calling 'social engineering' so scathingly is the same progressive force in society that achieved things like, I don't know, giving women the vote and ending serfdom.

Yet somehow the billionaires who control the media narrative have convinced all these folks that progressive social engineering is bad, and we have to turn the clock back to the good old days of Lords and Peasants.

Yep. It's a classic ploy. One group gets two other groups to fight while they feel powerful, laugh, and do whatever they want while the others are distracted by flinging poo and sharpening knives.

The goal of Capitalism is to extract money up to the top. Generally those who have money make more.

But it's still Capitalism with opportunities for anyone with the entrepreneurial spirit and guts allowed to participate.

As dysfunctional as the system is, I feel blessed to have been able to reap the rewards of my efforts and go down in financial flames because of my greed and stupid decisions. It's the game I prefer to play, and offers quite a bit of freedom compared to the alternatives.

I started out with nothing and still have most of it left....

I generally get a job so I can extract the employers money into My pocket and I am very far from the top. I'm pretty sure that guy whom is mowing My neighbors yard is extracting money also but He is driving a beat up truck so He must be the 1% incognito right?

Social Engineering + Capitalism/Marketing

That is what I'm discussing. Not whether or not anyone in general makes money.

Do you deny Marketing is designed to make you want things and engineer your perception?

I'm not saying Capitalism is all bad, only that we are trained to think it is good and other forms are bad. I am asserting there is plenty of social engineering around Capitalism. Public schools. Advertising. Political rhetoric. Television and movies. They not only tap into "what is" but help to normalize and create perceptions of "what should be."

We battle over our "should be's" and there is an element that benefits from that.

I would argue there is no perfect system, and as you say there are flaws. I'm not a socialist and I understand the potential rewards of capitalism- my husband is self employed.

It is the same "progressive force" that led to the gulags and the holocaust. The problem is, you don't know what you're progressing to but will still use whatever means necessary to get there.

This is how to make a right wing voter out of a former left wing socialist.

I would have never believed this if I hadn't already seen several examples of this myself. So when you consider the pool of centrists, the shift to right is even greater.

I think the recent statements from Feinstein and Pelosi (among other democrats) is further indication that they finally see this as true as well. By not keeping the extremes on the left in check, the more mainstream left is loosing significant ground.

I hope they finally realize that maybe it's time now to put the door pins back into the hinges.

This society has already been reduced to Lords and Peasants. That's why it's important to keep the peasants fighting among themselves. And from what I see, the so-called Progressives work for the Lords.

I think your OP has validity. But it goes both ways. The right bought into the social programming and said "they r takin r guns" and instead of less guns we have more than ever. And never was it that the government was coming to take their guns away.

Now there is a president who won't take guns away and sales fall. That in itself is social programming. Any time a democrat is elected the social programming kicks in regarding "my guns".

Funny isn't it? Due to social programming on the right, they prove their own point is worthless by buying more of the thing they claim is being taken away. Now they just have more guns. And no one took away the ability to have one.

I guess it's a matter of perspective....

I see the conservatives with a savior that can do no wrong, like most divinely inspired gurus.

Maybe when modular caliber, binary, guns are available all they can see is the 100.00 receiver for the AR15.
The SAME receiver will take a clamp on mag well and accept multiple calibers, while a binary trigger fires a round on the pull AND release of the trigger.
