China Worried Nuclear Fallout Could Force Hand on North Korea

North Korea has put China in a difficult spot with its latest nuclear test. And that spot will only get more difficult if radioactive contamination suddenly turns up in China. The Wall Street Journal reports China is stepping up its radiation monitoring in the wake of last weekend's North Korean nuclear test, which was staged less than 50 miles from China's border. More than 100 million people live in the three Chinese provinces closest to North Korea, and China is worried that nuclear fallout could lead to massive public outcry and force it to take a tougher stance against North Korea.

So the test is confirmed as the 'biggest ever'... And now China's worried about fallout? Wouldn't that just be the thing. Nuclear fallout forcing a nuclear war. *Face Palm*

Meanwhile, Chinese President Xi Jinping told President Trump over the phone Wednesday that the solution to the North Korean nuclear crisis must lie in peaceful talks, Reuters reports. However, North Korea's repeated nuclear tests may be weakening China's position on that. "Obviously, it is an insult to China,” an international politics professor in China tells NBC News regarding the latest nuclear test. Experts say China is frustrated and embarrassed that North Korea's nuclear tests are forcing it into conflict with the US and making people question its ability to control North Korea. While not official, media reports in China indicate its leadership may be opening up to new solutions in regards to North Korea.

China gets an insult and now they're going to get tough?

Then again - after watching this? Yeah, I could see their need for worry.

peace

Maybe Lil' Kim is trying to take out China with radiation poisoning. Lil' Kim does like to kill people.

Communist China and Communist North Korea. People's Republics. Make no mistake. North Korea is China's sword.

The Chinese have been putting up with the fat kid's crap, because they know that it causes the U.S. "problems". Beijing will applaud any effort that makes the U.S. look weak and incompetent... to a certain point. When radioactive fallout begins raining down on the Chinese homeland... the NORKs and the fat kid will lose their comic appeal.

North Korea has no resource to build nuclear weapons. If North Korea has a nuclear weapon, you can be sure where it came from. Hint. China.

I worried about that after Desert Storm. One of my testicles swelled up bigger than my other three. It looked like a fidget spinner with wrinkles. Weird...

China is not happy that we send more and more military resources to that area. They are even less happy with new deals we make with Japan, the South and others in the threatened area. Finally, if it comes nuke-to-nuke with Lil' Kim, they pay a heavy price.

If our Western understand of Chinese philosophy is worthwhile, it would seem that China is deeply embarrassed by NK and haven't reigned him in because he is a dye-in-the-wool fellow communist. They lose face by the moment. However, the situation has evolved to where they had better do something about Kim or Trump just might and who knows where that might end.

The are left with no solution but for themselves to take out Kim one way or another and resolve the whole issue and in the process bring the North into a position to gain untold amounts of aid from all quarters once the dust settles. Then NK can enter the modern world markets.

If Kim dies, it will be seen to have been as act of the SK or the US, not as a Chinese conspiracy having taken out a bro.

I lived in S. Korea. It isn't nuclear, (kimchi & soju flatulence)... but as a chemical agent... it is very persistent.

All kidding aside, I pray for South Korea. I pray for the innocent North Koreans. The Korean people are very welcoming; even more so, if you take the time to learn their culture. Korea was, hands down, my favorite overseas tour. The food is amazing, the people are wonderful... I had an amazing time over there! I truly fear for the safety of the friends that I made there.

A new Korean war will kill tens of millions... if confined to the Korean peninsula. Should the conflict go global? Billions will die.

This is not doom porn. This is ABSOLUTE fact.

To allow propaganda to insinuate our lives and to go unchallenged is to remain devoutly ignorant.

The Wall Street Journal reports China is stepping up its radiation monitoring in the wake of last weekend's North Korean nuclear test

I googled this news story and can only find TWO sources: Newser (your link) and the WSJ. The OP link is just parroting WSJ article, anyway. No think-tanks across the globe have alluded to this story either.

"Obviously, it is an insult to China,” an international politics professor in China tells NBC News

Obviously, this propaganda story by the WSJ is an insult to those with discerning minds. Btw, I love how this "international politics professor in China" just happens to not have a name.

Experts say China is frustrated and embarrassed that North Korea's nuclear tests are forcing it into conflict with the US

Got to love those unnamed "experts", huh? Also, the "nuclear tests are forcing it into conflict with the US" line is classic psychological manipulation — PSYOP ish. A common pattern often used by the US government is to turn a harmless entity into a fearsome enemy through lies via manufactured news stories — just like the one in the OP.

While not official, media reports in China indicate its leadership may be opening up to new solutions in regards to North Korea.

At least the "journalist" came full circle and subtlety admitted the news story is complete B.S.

S+F anyway.

At least that way it would remove all of the uncertainty surrounding a nuclear war that kills millions of not billions, right?

Of course the nuclear tests - along with repeated threats are forcing some type of conflict. No fake news that.

NK = a harmless enemy?
