Good for Trump. I could care what the Republican leaders think of it. They have done nothing while having control.

Imagine that supporting some of the other party's ideas, what treason.

The brain says its a plan to use as leverage down the line "see, I worked across the table, now they have to"

Possibly both

Are either of those bad things?

When I heard this on the car radio this afternoon, I literally shouted for joy!

Republicans in Congress stabbed President Trump and all Republican voters in the back when they declined to fulfill their 7 year promise to repeal ObamaCare. President Trump has been fuming over this ever since, and so have the voters who were lied to. "Blindsiding" the dysfunctional Republican party serves them right!

Democrats show more cohesion and loyalty to the things they believe in. The path of least resistance is to work with the people in both parties who truly understand that they were elected to serve the American public.

You guys always find a way to rationalize your worst fears, in this case him siding with what "used" to be two of the most vile and disgusting politicians around, Schumer and Pelosi.

So much crap has been talked about those two by Trump supporters on these boards yet now it's ok to side with them because *insert convenient and "brilliant" troll tactic by Trump*.

It really is very predictable.

It's not siding with them. Call it a one time alliance. We don't need to play brinkmanship with the victims of Harvey, and soon Irma.

Democrats will not be able to say Trump didn't work with them. It also lights a fire under Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell's asses to get stuff done, or continue to hem haw and be blamed for all the failure in congress, resulting in getting the boot in 2018.

These politicians have got to get themselves together because this hurricane season will leave an untold nightmare

This is going to be a massive problem with these hurricanes.

Irma is turning into a monster

Then I see there’s another one called, believe it or not, Hurricane JOSE coming next!

This calls for leadership

No need. It's logical. If you want to make America even greater, work with those who (in general) feel the same way.

I also heard that Steve Bannon was the one who encouraged President Trump to think/work SMARTER, instead of working HARDER with dysfunctionals. (Steve is supposedly doing a better job for the President now that's back at Breitbart.)

You give Bannon far too much credit, Trump knows how to get things done with people who don't like him.

Even a staunchly independent person like President Trump takes advice. But since it's just a rumor that Bannon told him that NOW is the time to work with Democrats, going forward, I won't discuss it further.

I see the Logic there . If President Trump is going to get Signed Legislation by the Congress and Senate to Help this Country and the People who Voted for him , then he will Need to Appeal to Both Parties in order to get Any Agenda Done .
Isn't that what Politicians do ?

Hurricane JOSE or KATIA will need an illegal DACA agreement to come to the USA.

edit on 9/6/2017 by carewemust because: (no reason given)

That's what politicians of good character, integrity and empathy do. I don't think we've had a President like that since William Clinton.

I don't think they care much for agreements. Just get out of the way.

officially known as an Employment Authorization Document (EAD), to prove eligibility to work in the US

Wouldn't surprise me if a category 6 is created. The National Weather Service created new rainfall colors for all it's radar rainfall estimates, when Houston went over 25 inches.

If JOSE and KATIA are coming to do damage, they'll have to get approval, like ANTIFA and BLM did!

This further solidifies my updated opinion of Trump. I used to think of him as Biff Tannen; stupid, over-privileged bully with an ego to fulfill.

But now... I'm characterizing him more as a Sandor Clegane. Jerk, bully, over-privileged... but gets so sick of his own side that he actually does the right thing, occasionally.

This gives me hope. The DACA thing is a bully move but it's a move that bullies GOP politicians into action, same with the ACA and the trans military ban.

So now you have Mad Dog stepping up to bring reason to the table, GOP congressfolks' lack of ACA replacement plans exposed, pressure on both parties to find a permanent solution to DACA kids, and now a bunch of GOP politicians look like total douche nozzles for being visibly upset over Trump's willingness to put bs aside and do the right thing.

I'm more confused by this guy than ever. He may go down as the most infamous, yet influential president in US history.

I don't know if he's a Mountain or Hound but he's definitely a Clegane.
