It came off as he's white why are they messing with him.
Sorry .

Then it sounds like you have some racism issues to work out. It's pretty clear they did not say that.

His name may be similar to someone on the no-fly list. Check this with the TSA.

I thought OP meant frisked at security check-in. Was he getting pulled off the plane for a frisking?

I've been pulled out of line for a random x-ray check once--but they told me to get back in line a minute later. Lesson learned: don't wear baggy hockey jerseys on a flight...and don't eat a Whopper before boarding because you may not make it to the terlet by the time you're allowed to get out of your seat.

No whining please. I'm always patted down and, often, swabbed for explosives.

I wear Hawaiian shirts, Levi's and Danskos and carry a nice backpack because I don't like checking baggage.

I'm a middle-aged woman.

Nope it sounded just like that. Otherwise why even mention his race. Please recognize the language .
I have no issues with race but I do have issues with racism.
Oh and I wasn't talking to you so next time MYOB.

That's what I got as well.

If your name matches someone on the no-fly it often means TSA screeners single you out for extra slap and tickle at the screening line.

That's honestly how I took it. Maybe their son actually looks sketchy as hell, or maybe he truly IS sketchy as hell.

My son who is a white teenager is pulled out and frisked every time we fly on family vacations. This has happened 4 times already. It is at different airports and different places we fly. Does any one know why? It is so annoying. He has long hair but other than that I cant think of any reason they would do this. I was hoping someone with insider info can help

This is done to ensure TSA doesn't get accused of targeting. Inconvenience and harass enough obvious non-threats and then they can point at those actions when the groups the real threats actually belong to complain about how they're targeted for enhanced screening when they fly. It's all a dog and pony show, really.

Seems like he must have made a risk assessment list. 4 times in a row is not random.

TSA repeatedly pick a muslim out of random lines. - Cry havoc and let slip the dogs of social justice war.
TSA repeatedly pick a white kid out of random lines. - "Why mention his race, you're a racist."

gosh you can be a bother....

I'm a 40 something white male, from Australia, with short hair, was wearing a dressy shirt, neat jeans, and black polished shoes. I had just never encountered such offensive authority as I met at the border in LA.

I was DENIED entry at LAX for fear I was going there to work, despite having a solid job and family here.

Your TSA are scumbags.

30+ hours on a plane there and 30+ more back. and the goobers parading me around the air port couldn't even pronounce my name... inbred freaks, all of them. especially the one who pushed a 19 year old swedish girl hard away in the detention room saying "Don't come near me" when she was begging to make a call.

asshats.

I saw your post, it's my business now. I took it as describing him so that people could make an accurate assessment, as in NOT jump to racism like you did, or NOT jump to the conclusion maybe he's Muslim.

We know he's white, we have a clearer picture of who he is so we can figure out why.

Of course some people just can't stop seeing racism everywhere.

A woman who wears Hawaiian shirts?!?

Are you sure that isn't the Fashion Police patting you down?

There is always the TSA prescreen program. Costs 80$ but you get the expedited lane and you breeze through fast as hell...just saying.

Sometimes, you get a lucky aiport ticket number. The barcode actually has some special code that allows this.

I'm a mid 30's white guy, beard, tattoos. Get extra screening every single time, I always assumed it was because I make it a point to wear a Gadsden flag shirt, liberty shirt, or something similar to express my displeasure. I've had the pat down, the "you can't refuse the xray", the bag rummage AT THE GATE, the supervisor called over to get me a pass, the explosive swab, the works.

When I flew to Texas to hunt last year, got the extra screen at the gate, I assume because I declared my rifles. They swabbed the rifle case for explosive residue as I laughed at the agent. I proceeded to hunt for 3 days, got back to the airport and they swabbed me for explosive residue. Machine beeps, I hand them my hunting permit, I go on about my business.

His name is probably on a list. Could be from someone with the same name, or for whatever reason he's been flagged.

Other possibilities: things he says on the internet can get him flagged. Could be the hair / pot thing because some cops are just asses. They definitely target people based on things like hair / clothing / type of car driven. Look clean cut, and get a lot less attention from authorities.

They do make them for ladies. I love them. I've visited Hawaii twice and wish I could afford to live there.

I don't know why they target me, but they do.

Why did you feel the need to mention he's white?

Because that's what makes this story an outrage!
I mean, if they were colored, it would be justified, right?
/sarcasm

Yet sadly, and YOU know it, it's the complete reverse.

That's a story somebody I knew at work had. He was in the clothing store one Saturday, and was walking through the aisles when he saw thse Hawaiian tie-died T-shirts in a bargain bin. Picked one up, looked at it, went to the checkout and asked if he could try it, "Well, if you really want to" she replied, "there's a changing room to the left". So he tried it on, looking at himself in the mirror from all angles, then came back. "It fits you then?" she replied. He acknowledges, then she puts in a bag and shouts out "Ethel, this gent wants to buy of these ladies blouses? How much are they on special offer?"
