Palestinian journalists face crackdown as Palestinian authority tightens grip on media

So Palestine isn't a real country yet (which I sincerely hope it will become in the future) but it is already acting same as every other Arab country out there. I mean seriously, can't you guys wait until you get your independence before starting jailing your journalists and getting all totalitarian?
Hamas is jailing and executing gays while the Palestinian authority is cracking down on free speech. One hell of a country it's going to be...

The campaign began in June with the Palestinian Authority’s decision to shut down roughly 30 critical websites.
Since then, however, according to a new report from Amnesty International released last month, that campaign has widened to allow Palestinian authorities in the West Bank to subject journalists and activists “to arbitrary arrests, violent interrogations, confiscation of equipment, physical assaults and bans on reporting”.
The new law allows prosecutors to impose heavy fines or detention on anyone – including journalists and whistleblowers – judged to have been critical of the authorities online on the grounds of “disturbing public order”, “national unity”, “social peace” or “contempt of religion”.

Why in the hell would anyone want a nation run by terrorist organizations? That is the same as recognizing the ISIS caliphate as a legitimate nation / government.

What Palestine, the only refuge left to "Palestinians" is a small open air prison called Gaza and another enforced ghetto called The West Bank.

There is no Palestine anymore. Calling the people 'Palestinian' is a ruse carried by the Occupation to confuse the rest of the world. The UN and world media are complicit, turning a blind eye to their plight and demonizing them like here in this thread.

Put yourself in their shoes. Why should they have to win "independence" if they've been calling this land home for centuries, possibly millenia?

I'd imagine the frustration runs deeper than we can fathom.

US armed and trained ISIS to justify invading Syria (now) and Iraq (again).

The caliphate is propaganda, it began with airstrike on a flag on a hilltop to open aggression in Northern Syria. Remember? They made a big show of it, inviting the worlds press and everything...

Uhhh, despite Israel directly aiding ISIS fighters, providing refuge, medical treatment and shipments of arms across the Israeli border into Syria, the IDF has also run airstrikes against Syrian army facilities directly

All for naught, the Syrians are winning back their country, US, NATO, ISIS and Israel are losing the battles, and the war.

Most Israeli Muslims and Christians you meet out there who are Israeli citizens love their life under Israeli rule. From the gays and lesbians in Tel Aviv partying away the hours to the business men in Acko to the shopkeepers in Jerusalem. They live in a very forward looking state where they can live their lives the way they want to in a state that defends their rights as a democracy. They know life is good the way it is, far better than the states that surround them

In the end, they aren't allowed to defend themselves from their oppressors either. Thats why Hamas and other "Arab States" are demonized in the Official narrative.
