N. Korea's apparent sixth nuke test estimated to have yield of 100 kilotons

That's 100, not 10.

I changed that number. Heard the radio saying the NK's can adjust it from10 to 100.
Personally I'm not knowledgeable on the matter. And therfore waiting for an official report.

NK should be giving an announcement now.

LOAM's link says 100 kilotons

This seems like a very big leap since the last test. Still convinced they had outside help. Pakistan, Iran?

According to this, 10,000 may be the threshold. But that might not mean smaller hydrogen bombs aren't possible. Wouldn't that depend upon the amount of material used?

From NK state media much earlier today:

Kim Jong-Un gives guidance to Nuclear Weaponization

The H-bomb, the explosive power of which is adjustable from tens kiloton to hundreds kiloton, is a multi-functional thermonuclear nuke with great destructive power which can be detonated even at high altitudes for super-powerful EMP attack according to strategic goals.

I'm looking for a conclusive answer..I know they are 2 stage devices, a conventional fission device sets off the secondary fusion device.
(edit)Or could be a boosted device, not a 2 stage..lots to learn here.

According to whom? There is no new 3rd event on either the USGS site, or on EMSC site.

This is what I get for checking earthquake stats before returning to bed. I fell asleep in front of the tv a couple of hours ago, just when this started.

EMSC reports two quakes......a 6.3 at one km depth, and the second one was a 4.1 at 0 km depth. The second one must have been the collapse event? Someone posted about a third quake but I can't find it.

Any guesses as to how Trump will respond? Something's got to be done before Lil' Kim nukes or emp's us.

Either one is possible, or a rogue scientist..pretty sure they are getting help.

I would say Iran, given they've helped NK in the past. So much for that agreement former President Obama made with Iran. It was a rotten agreement from the get-go and Trump needs to dump it.

Then he needs to take care of Kim.
