God i hope not. Either George Orwell was a prophet or he was paid to tell it like his Masters wished him to. All these Writers talking about the future, were probably ordained to. I don't know if you believe in the power of Intent, but i do. And to me, everything Big in our lives was set up to invoke us in that direction.

Maybe 'just maybe' the belief in that mind set is the root of the trap - If they can convince you that they are all poweful and control everyone - Everyone starts to believe it and its game over.

No - This New World Order [which really exists] never could could come together - They fight among themselves for dominance and the internet is no different - They can't master themselves, let alone us, and the internet still plays out
and the conflicts are there - It's our game, not theirs!

You're probably right, Rome fell, so will our so called civilized world at some point. Who's right or wrong doesn't really matter because it's gonna happen sooner or later right.

Baring a hughe pndemic or WWIII, I would say no - As long there is money to be made someone, some group, will figure out a way to put it back togbether - even if we [who ever is left] ends up living underground.

And soon, maybe very soon, it will be possible to launch a combination spaceship / space statiion [like Babylon 5] into deep space - So even if the planet goes up in smoke from global warming - some will survive

Perhaps, yes. Avoiding that would be preferable but, the way things are going it's inevitable.
