I ask this question, because America's largest city, New York City, has started an intense 90 day investigation to identify all "hate symbols" in the city, and take appropriate action.

The city has already identified one "symbol of hate" for removal.

Mayor de Blasio said he already has one specific target in mind: a sidewalk marker in downtown Manhattan for Nazi collaborator Henri Phillipe Petain.
Full Article: nypost.com...

It seems that without a government-certified list of symbols that constitute HATE, identifying all of them is too subjective...too open to interpretation. And probably some lawsuits as well.

Do you prefer that each city determine what constitutes "hate"? Personally, I think the entire movement is crazy. A slippery slope that can end up making America barren of Statues, Christmas Trees, Crosses, along with banning certain nicknames and mascots for sports teams. (i.e. The "Fighting Irish")

Well, that's going to be awkward.

The apple itself is a clear symbol of hate or more precisely oppression. A brief summary of William Tell

Tell is arrested for failing to bow in respect to the hat that the newly appointed Austrian Vogt, Albrecht Gessler, has placed on a pole, and Gessler commands him to shoot an apple off his son's head with a single bolt from his crossbow.

It symbolises the dominance of TPTB over the common man/woman/trans/manbian/lesbimantranian.

Also Apple itunes is really really irritating.

Well they better ban George Soros.

He was a nazi collaborator.

I think the APPLE is what Satan himself gave to Eve, isn't it? You're right. The apple is indeed a symbol of hate.

No more apples for teacher...unless you don't like her.

Like Washington Redskins or the White House?

Symbols are different than icons or monuments (like statues).

Everyone knows a swastika, that it represents hate. But What about the cross, the peace symbol, the smiley face ?Someone is always offended.

I vote to ban traffic signs. But that represents the road we're all on, the future will be hieroglyphic, everything has symbols in the new multiculture.

God forbid there's a statue or likeness of George Soros in public view. Just his NAME is a hate symbol.

You're spot-on, Intrptr. Like I said, it's slippery slope that leads to ridiculousness.

Just 10 days ago, ESPN was forced (by Twiiter outcries) to stop "Auctioning" NFL players, as part of their Fantasy Football draft. Odell Beckham's fans were livid that he was being auctioned, like a slave.

Seriously, everyone? Hindus, Buddhists, and Jainists all have recognized the swatsika as a very good symbol. That is why the Nazi's claimed it for themselves. The other religions have a much longer symbolism than the limited and short lived nazism.

Source:India Times

Believe me...America is still a melting pot and there are many of those faiths who live and visit here. Just because someone has a swatsika, does NOT mean they are a nazi or HATE!

To me, the cross represents pedophilia and oppression. It is very offensive to e. Should we ban that because of my opinion? There is no protection from being offended, never was, and never should be. There are already laws against assault, regardless of the reasoning. But offending words, no...that is just ridiculous. If someone uses those words to act in an illegal manner, then address that action. Words and symbols are subjective, like art. Everyone interprets symbols differently, and for different reasons based upon their personal history.

Hitler reversed the symbol and tilted it. Its not the same nor does it represent the same thing.

For shame...

Okay, if thats a person experience thing, sorry.

To me the peace symbol is marred by official narrative, associating it with communism. Really, it was an anti war symbol used by demonstrators in the 60s, subverted to communist symbology by the MSM, the same way symbols are still subverted today.

Everyone interprets symbols differently, and for different reasons based upon their personal history.

There is no mistaking the Nazi swastika, or its portent. I don't care if people tattoo it on themselves, wear armbands or march in crowds flashing the Nazi Salute.

Its (used to be) a free country.

Pitting people together that disagree violently about ideology is for show, a staged for media event, to represent an agenda, eventually resulting in legislature making demonstration, protest and civil disobedience illegal.

Symbols can't hate.

Statues aren't racist.

People hate.

People are racist.

I hate Nazi's. Can't stand them. Yet even with that level of animosity, no Nazi symbol has ever punched me.

This is nothing more than the government determining what can be expressed.

I believe an amendment has been made to prohibit government from doing anything about the free expression.

I can't remember which.

How did what I say differ or even suggest that Nazi != bad? Please explain that to me. How did you come to that conclusion?
