I sadly announce that comedian Jerry Lewis has passed away.
Lewis who was 91 passed away quietly in his sleep.
I remember watching him and Dean Martin on tv as a kid and then the movies Jerry did after the team broke up.
He's been out of entertainment for a while now. He was my dad's generation.
He did mess up tv for me every labor day weekend when I was a kid with his telethon. When you're a kid you don't think about the good he was doing.
Sorry Jerry.
There's gonna be a hot time on the old town tonight up there.

I grew up with Jerry Lewis. Here is my very favorite bit if his. It is done to a well known piece of music by Count Basie.
Now I like to kid myself and view this as an interpretation of Trumps first day in the White House. Enjoy

I never really cared for his work. Not bad or anything, it just wasn't my cup of tea.
But he did so much for charity and I will give him all the respect in the world for that.

R.i.p. Jerry, you did good.

I grew up with him as well. Some of the best physical comedy ever. A day of mourning in France. He's been their favorite for decades.

his comedy was not my cup of tea, thought he worked best with Dean, but the man seemed to spend most of his life making people happy, or helping to make lives better.

The world will be a little worse off without Jerry Lewis in it, RIP sir and enjoy your reunion.

He could have my brother and I in fits of laughter movie after movie. It was one of our favorite things to do at my Grandparents house. I'm glad he went peacefully.

RIP

Some of the hardest movie laughs I ever had were due to Jerry. The man was a genius.
RIP Mr Lewis, you earned it.

Amazed you liked him, Silly. Good for you!

He was my commencement speaker when I graduated college in the mid-1990s. He told the most politically incorrect jokes, ever. Jewish people, Polish people, women...no one was off-limits.

It was a pleasure to laugh my way through commencement.

He was also a kind-hearted man who dedicated himself to children and finding a cure for muscular dystrophy.

RIP to an entertainment giant and a warm, wonderful human being!

RIP
I Loved his movies, specially the one where he had to take care of a load of babies, and had to make them their bottles. Special kind of humor indeed...

Jerry Lewis epitomized the American spirit. Work hard, play hard, keep children-in-need as priority #1.

It seems that the really good people have been dying young in recent years. Nice to see Jerry make it 91.

I liked him in King of Comedy.

As an irascible old comic finally losing his cool with a mentally ill wannabe, played by Robert De Niro.

Compelling stuff.
