Hey guys. I came across this today. I know it's not a politically charged post. But i love Volkswagen always have from the classics to some of todays. But this is awesome possibly bringing back one of it's most iconic vehicle's, with a nod to the environmentally minded.

My wife and I got rid of our 86 Westphalia about a year ago.

I wish they would make a camper van electric version with solar panels on top. I would buy that!

The original "shaggin' wagon" is going electric?

Plug in, turn on, tune out!

Batteries included.

It's a concept vehicle. I don't think the DVLA would approve of a car with a steering that retracts when the vehicle is in motion and in autonomous mode, or even a drivers seat that turns round.

I was tempted to put that in the title.

Never had one. I'd love to find a 21 window.

Am I the only one that feels sad about the new electric VW bus? Doesn't it lose like 90% of it's original character? It's going to be reliable, quiet, smooth, modern.. Where's the uncertainty that it'll work and the bond you're forced to make with it through frustration and breaking and repairing etc? Surely it'll just be another characterless vehicle for nothing more than getting people A to B.
