Police urged people to leave the centre as they said they were searching for more possible attackers throughout the city.

Bystanders said a number of people were stabbed in Market Square before one person was arrested by Finnish police.

It is not clear if this is the same person who is said to have been shot in the leg by police as bystanders say they heard gunshots..

One man and five women - one pushing a baby in a pram - were injured in the attack.

A young boy and elderly woman are also said to have been involved, the Tarun Sanomat reported, adding that at least one person has died.

A body was reportedly seen covered up and witnesses said they saw a pool of blood following the attack.

I don't believe such attacks have anything to do with Islam. Islam an excuse used by desperate and depressed people with no sense of purpose in life.

They're suicidal - so why not give their life some "meaning" by contributing to the twisted dogma of a major religion? Who knows, they may even finally "get some" from those 72 virgins.

Reminds me of the weird lone wolf attacks in Germany shortly after the train station incident. Well regardless of that possibility people who attack random bystanders need to be put down. My heart goes out to the victims. The whole world is gone mad.

If real then it's all going to hell from here. I have no respect for people who harm the innocent. It's like watching a train wreck in slow motion. I don't know that the eclipse has something to do with it, but I do know the police tend to have more crime take place on full moon so, anything is possible.
