The white supremacist 'alt-right' is a fringe group at best. The last national Neonazi convention (in 2016) covered by the media hosted ~200 people.

The term alt-right was initially used by the dick heads who proclaimed themselves to be so. ctrl-left just seems more like childish right wingers trying to come up with some little term of their own to disparage people who are against right wing extremism..... I thought that was easy.

As for their behaviour, sadly it often ends up being much of the "same sh!t, different shovel".



Edit: Who applies the label depends on who you are speaking to, how they identify and how they choose to view opponents or those that do not agree with them. Typically those referred to by such terms are often the extreme of the ideology.
