The Right Wingnut Conundrum

Hello out there in rant land.

I have been told that ATS is nothing but a right wing conspiracy site. I thought about this, since it has been told to me again and again ad nauseam, and I just had to find out the truth. Damn curiosity always getting the better of me.

Well. I have learned the truth. It wasn't as hard as I imagined it would be.

Pure and simple.

Skeptic overlord did a poll for the 2016 Presidential election.

Trump 35.07%

This should put this little conundrum to bed.

Now for the rant part.

If you would just slow down and take your time to think things through, you would not be so wrong all the time.

What I have witnessed is it has become more right wing after the election.
It went really right wing and now many left wingers have come back and it is going more center but still is quite far right at the moment.
It will rubberband left and right for all time lol.
Also a poll? I thought polls were not trustworthy anymore?.

Damn if I wasnt part of the 42% then. Folks do not believe it though.

What is irrelevant is you bringing up a poll from 2016 when ATS has changed it's political leaning since then.
Why not do a poll now you would find it is leaning more to the right.

It was for the Presidential election of 2016. ATS has not changed it's political leaning just because people don't log on. They still have an account here. More users of ATS hold socialist beliefs. It is not leaning anyway. Some people are just not showing up to the dance.

We already know that ATS was pretty evenly-distributed a year ago. I don't understand your point.

i don't think most people are hardline right-wingers, but i think that hardline right-wingers are among the noisiest people on the internet. and when they pile on, it certainly seems as if the whole site is a clusterfudge of racist, authoritarian nutballs.

Putting a zealot like Sanders in power will only create more right wing nutters, They feed off one another. It's no surprise that Obama gave way to Trump. We need to be moving away from this zealotry, not toward it.

Stop falling head over heels for con men that tell you pretty things you like to hear.

The entire thread about Charlottesville is full of members defending the groups who organized it. The organizers were self-admitted white nationalist groups.

The general sentiment has changed here and you know it.

Sanders is done with, some supports went for Trump, a smaller amount to Hillary. The rest of them dropped out altogether from partisan sides.

Trump numbers here are way above what Sanders was. A new poll can shed light, it will count the new member ship during and after the election which was bringing in a Conservative audience to Conspiracy leaning sites.

This is your problem and indicative of the alt-right mantra being repeated until people are fooled. You are convinced that a defense of white nationalist groups is a way to give the finger to "political correctness".

Once they convince you of that, then suddenly racism is the hip new way to stick it to those stuffy PC folk.

I was one who actually registered and started posting after the election. It got old coming to my favorite site just to read how I'm dumb and racist. I used my right to vote for the candidate that actually talked about issues in this country I care about. If the left leaning crowd want to whine about how the site went more right wing, then I say blame their own rhetoric and hate for everything that goes against their political opinions. The overwhelming amount of fake news hasn't helped either.

That could be easily tested. Just look at the date at which pro Trump started ATS on their avatar. Damn. Now I am curious.

No I am not saying that. I am saying that all the groups who only want people of the same color in that group are stupid. I don't care about them. I think we should send them all to North Korea. Or just let people think what they want.

But this thread isn't about race. It is about how people keep saying that more people on ATS are right wingers. That poll proved otherwise. The ATS community as a whole is more socialist.

This thread is a perfect example of why we should leave politics to the other 80 million political sites out there and get back

to being a conspiracy site.

Bring back my UFOs and Bigfoot and time travelers and ghosts and Masons and the NWO, bring back the JFK theories and Roswell, bring back the history and science.

Bring back the Ouija Board and the Tarot cards.

Never had any problem with hate speech in a Loch Ness monster thread.
