as someone already pointed out, the pet food is made from the meat products that the humans don't want to consume. get rid of the pets, just how does that affect the humans that are still wanting their choice cuts of meat to eat? it doesn't... they will still eat, only they will have more waste to dispose of is all...
our pets contribute more to our quality of life than those rich people with their private jets flying halfway around the world to discuss how to cut human's carbon footprint on the world. heck, I bet if they stopped meeting, they would cut the carbon just as much as if we butchered all the pets, and we could still have our natural protection against the rats, mice, and spiders that so love to invade our homes!

And that right there is the crux of the problem. All the meat in pet food is scrap and waste from processing meat for humans. Granted, it's partially an inherent by product of factory farming and but it's the same way HG groups fed their dogs and how cats became domesticated in the first place. Humans are by nature a wasteful group but so are most carnivores as well. I've found partial carcasses of small game many times that were likely left over from a fox getting its latest meal. So at least we're putting tonuse the scraps in some fashion still.

Think about it.

Soon, very soon, to 'save the world' - we'll be allowed only so many pets, farm animals etc.

They will be taxed.

They will be controlled by some ABC agency backed by (probably) homeland security(?).

From there - we'll be so used to allowing the 'Nanny State' telling us what we should do and capitulating without a fight?

No more private property....get it....communists are all about taking away peoples right to private property.

Climate change is a fantastic tool for them. And yep, your kids have traditionally been "property" legally. They cant be thought see...it takes a village to raise them. PROPERTY of the state...NOT YOU.

You can see thru most of their bs just by watching for the underlying goal of taking your right to property.

Anyhow - did you ever stop to think for one second that maybe, just maybe, the researchers are trying to educate the public on choices they have that can affect the environment when they own pets and buy pet food? Perhaps they're not actually telling people to kill their pets? It's sad - no downright pitiful - the sensationalistic websites that people use as "sources" around here.
