.38 bulletproof armadillo

That's some body armor there. I wonder what an armadillo is bulletproof to. Should we now be hunting them for their armor now and in when the modern world ends?

Apparently enough people eat them to warrant this story:

Well, for one they carry leporsy... So unless you want to end up looking like your avatar, I'd steer clear. They're also an out of control, overpopulated rodent that are spreading into habitats well beyond their range.

I know when you ACCIDENTALLY run over one it feels like you hit a rock...
I don't think I have ever really examined ones shell up close to know how tight it feels...

That said they can stop the bite of a wolf . So as hard as they are when hit with a car I'm guessing they are tough!!!

HOWEVER!!! Lol

I don't think they stop a bullet at all... maybe if they hit at just the right angle..but a direct hit ricochet that goes directly back at the shooter seems unlikely..

I think homie might be lying.. or atleast about what ricocheted...or what he was shooting at.

A 22 will kill an armadillo let alone a 38

This story is from 2015.

I'm not buying it was the Armadillo... an armadillo shell isn't going to richochet a .38. It isn't that hard. Probably drunk, missed and shot a rock.

The only wildlife I ate in Vermont was smelt. I caught them through the ice when I visited Vergennes. We ate a bit of a 'Port Henry Racer' raw. It wasn't bad, but they were better fried up with eggs for breakfast.

No, but they will wreak absolute hell on a yard. If they get around the house they will destroy it leaving craters about a foot deep everywhere.
I've always heard a .38 was the most susceptible to ricochet.
