Yeah Korea is a mess, has been for about three generations now so...

Food is a great binder of cultures. After some adventures in India it was good to have a cheese burger. Another outlet at the main North Korean Parliament is also a good start. Until a peace treaty is signed it will remain in a state of war. Sounds like the are a lot of capitalism fundamentals that need to be worked through.

If some Marlboro cigarettes fell out the back of the van it would be all good.

I like the way you think.
Asymmetrical !
I always thought we would have saved a ton
of money and lives if when his heighness
took the NPK throne the US posted
a want ad :

Tall beautiful woman needed to be wife of
Asian dictator,LOTS of perks!
If a 6 foot tall blonde
became his bride (and don't tell me there aren't
women out there that would do it,
serial killers get marriage proposals all the time)
We could have gone a long way to smooth this out.

He LOVES American culture, Dennis Rodman as best man,
you get the idea. Peace because of his sexy American
girlfriend. WAY WAY Cheaper than this mess we are in now.
And yes I'm joking but only half.

Maccas would be as close as most of them would get to a balanced diet .

Actually it's not such a bad idea, North and South could unite in their disgust over the over processed crap that makes a burger in a blender look appetizing.

I do think that food can unite people, my grandfather served in Korea and I reckon if the north sat down with a beer and chicken Parmigiana and salad at sizzlers in Pyongyang the we could be friends. However NK's obsession with the west is aimed at the wrong sources, yes America does have fine dining establishments but McDonald's is not one of them, hell the hatred of McDonalds putrid menu could unite the US and NK so you might be onto something.

If I was invited to 'lil kims house for dinner I'd serve him a big ol' Texas T-bone with mash and roast vegetables and I guarantee he'd think twice about testing another ICBM. You don't make friends by selling them garbage, give them Sizzler's as a peace offering.

Surreptitiously adding market reforms to their communist project would fundamentally destroy it. These are the sorts of things the CIA should have been doing from day one, but they are too busy spying on their own citizens.

I've been to Pyongyang and they have nothing but disdain and hatred for the "yankee invaders", that I wager they would feel the same way about American companies.

At least they serve beer to help wash it down and aid digestion. I wonder how clean the guy mixing beef's hands were? Visiting N. Korea would be kinda cool in a psychedelic kinda way- the few videos I've seen that were taken there give me a weird dreamlike or Truman show feeling. They had the right employee working the counter, though, she was the only one that had functioning smile muscles, although it seemed as if she struggled to avoid cracking a grin.

There is not a Mc Donalds in North Korea that I know of, so I made this thread to check out the idea and get some discussion going about it. Has been interesting to see there is fast food technology there. I am getting a bit tied of all the doom porn going on in the media with NK, so trying to engage a more productive approach to these issues.

Pffft. They don't need Maccas when they got the most awesome burger there is!

For those who have no idea what this beauty is it's the Koryo burger.

A fan favourite of all human seagulls!
