President Donald Trump announced his support Wednesday for legislation that would cut in half the number of legal immigrants allowed into the United States while moving to a "merit-based" system of entry.
President Trump on Wednesday endorsed a new bill in the Senate aimed at slashing legal immigration levels over a decade, a goal Trump endorsed on the campaign trail that would represent a profound change to U.S. immigration policies that have been in place for half a century.
Trump appeared with Sens. Tom Cotton (Ark.) and David Perdue (Ga.) at the White House to unveil a modified version of a bill the senators first introduced in April to cut immigration by half from the current level of more than 1 million green cards per year granting foreigners permanent legal residence in the United States.

There is another thread pretty much the same just a few down from this. The point I was trying to make there is that in the past when people came to this country, they were required to take the constitution test in ENGLISH and also had to take ENGLISH classes. It is crazy how many people live in LA and speak 0 English! Let alone know the constitution.

If America's population growth is not curbed and continues to grow like Syria does, then war would happen when resources run short.
